Which brings me to my next rant…..How come in Rogue One they sent out literally hundreds of Tie Fighters for a dogfight but in a New Hope there was pretty much only three ? Couldn’t George Lucas have come back and rejigged the scene ? If Scarif had a couple of hundred Ties then the Death Star would have had thousands.
I think that may be one of the plotholes filled in though later books/comics. I have a vague recollection of reading an explanation. Something to do with not having re-allocated the squadrons for destroyers to Death Star yet. DS was very new and still being commissioned when the actions of the rebels accelerated it's use.

I hear that but I’m sure they would have had a few thousand floating around in case of emergencies. Not like there wasn’t room for them !

im what many have referred too as a bit of a star wars nerd.....and i've never given that this much thought

A bit of a ironic meme this one, I remember reading in the newspaper around 97-98 ( remember those relics of the past ? ) that Ewen McGregor had been cast as Obi Wan. My first thought was no fucken way will that junkie do justice to an iconic character. I was triggered before that term was even a term….
How wrong I was.
If anything due to the volume of work he surpassed the great Sir Alec Guinness.
Hats off you Scottish legend.

Um, you do know the great body of work that Sir Alec did, right?
The Sir might be a bit of a clue.
Or the 2.25% he got from the profits of a certain Star Wars movie, I doubt Sir Ewen got that (but I may be wrong)...
If it helps, Sir Alec was born in England but he thought his father might be Scottish. -

Fully aware that SAG was a legendary actor who made a lot of movies that I’ll never bother seeing.

@mn5 fair enough!
On that though it’s a bit like Peter Cushing, amazing as Moff Tarkin ( most underrated villain in SW history ) but it’s not like I specifically go out to watch any of his other work.

Can't wait.
Very happy for our Tem that not only was his role resurrected but he has been able to bring a new fighting style to the SW universe with Boba's use of Mau rākau.
There were some lean years for Tem. Remeber that reality programme were he was scratching a living from fan conference appearances and signings and had no good acting prospects?
Jake the Fett deserved better than that. -

im a little concerned it will be too similar to Mando, just just in the appearance of the title character but just the idea....low lifes on the outer rim etc
I do have faith though so will definately watch

@kiwiwomble while Mando was a western, I am wondering if Fett will lean toward mobster movie style. The trailer seemed to place an emphasis on gangs and allegiance type stuff. Sopranos in space?
-
@crucial yeah, that makes sense
will have to be some pretty good story telling to show that clearly whilst largely the same aesthetic
It would also work with the idea that Andor is supposed to be a but of a spy thriller, so there hitting all the troup's, at least that looks like it more major planet based so will look very different

Much of the Lucas concepts came from Samurai stuff as much as Spaghetti Westerns. Maybe the Fett line will be more Yazuka than Mafia?

If they are hitting those notes then I'd love to see more of the old school war movie stuff that came in Rogue One. Maybe that will come in another show.
