@crucial yeah, that makes sense
will have to be some pretty good story telling to show that clearly whilst largely the same aesthetic
It would also work with the idea that Andor is supposed to be a but of a spy thriller, so there hitting all the troup's, at least that looks like it more major planet based so will look very different
Much of the Lucas concepts came from Samurai stuff as much as Spaghetti Westerns. Maybe the Fett line will be more Yazuka than Mafia?
As long as Filoni and Favreau are there I trust they will get it right

Last Xmas Mando finished up for a bit……this Xmas we have THIS !
Looks fucken awesome !!!!!!
When I was little I did wonder what happened to Jabbas Palace after Luke and the gang wrecked havoc. Now I’ll find out.
im a little concerned it will be too similar to Mando, just just in the appearance of the title character but just the idea....low lifes on the outer rim etc
I do have faith though so will definately watch
Fett is a bit older, wiser and more jaded. I reckon it’ll have a different feel to Mando but still be awesome

Kights of the Old Republic was supposed to drop tonight…delayed until Friday

Andor is one I’m not that excited about…..but then again it might be more exciting if the hero is just Joe Blow as opposed to a ridiculously tough Jedi/Mandalorian……and it’s Star Wars so of course I’ll watch it.

Looking forward to Fett. Bob was always my favourite toy.
What happened with the Mandalorian though? Covid or are they still trying to get Gina Corano back?

Last I heard Gina is back so fuck you cancel culture.
I just think Mando will have a break for a season or two while these others shows get up and running, truth be told though where it ended was pretty satisfactory for me. There’s only so much Bounty Hunting a guy can do and still keep it compelling for the viewers.

Mando 3 is down for next year. Fett was always going to be inserted into the timeline and we will likely find that happenings there help progress the Mando storyline. PLus Ahsoka still has to come into things which I suspect will be a different direction and complete the Ezra/ Thrawn arc.
Rumours are that both Mando and Ahsoka will make appearances in Fett. -

Rumours are Gina is back for season 4, but she won't be in season 3. Been notable how many cast members have seen saying nice things about her in the press recently.
Obi Wan trailer is supposed to drop in the next day.

@rancid-schnitzel i was going to ask what you meant....does NOT feel like a year since season 2...thats quite confronting
had to google, saw some comments that the same sets and some of the production teams were working on Fett and Obi-wan so that plus a bit of COVID has resulted in release in 2022

The Baby Yoda arc ended but then you have the new story of him being in possession of the black lights lightsaber and red haired chick needing to get it through combat. But yeah, maybe it has run it's course .

I'm very meh about the Andor series. A decidedly mediocre character who is dead and I couldn't give a crap about his back story. I suppose that robot was cool but not worth watching for.
-
im not over worried about the character himself, as you say...he dead, but im intrigued with yet another genre (spy/espionage) and potentially see more of Coruscant or at least the inner planets
it is one thing that...not annoys me but i do notice....we always end up on these outer rim planets...more often that not tatooine

I do hear you but refer to my previous post. My boys and I discussed this and perhaps a lead character with no particularly amazing abilities ( seriously, Han and Lando had wits and charm to go with scrapping ability, this guy has nothing ) MIGHT make for a compelling show. We’ll see.
Mando and anyone who hangs with him can make mincemeat out of hordes of troopers ( seriously, how many did he, Fennic and Boba take out in the episode in which Grogu got kidnapped, over 50 surely ) but to Andor they would be more of a threat. Of course the issue there is that he ends up looking like a pussy.
@Kiwiwomble yeah Tattooine has been done to death and it’s about to be thrashed again with the Fett and Obi Wan shows.

but thats what im hoping to see, less taking down hoards of troopers, we have a couple of series where we can expect that, im hoping Andor has some heist aspects too it, escaping from behind "enemy lines", jail breaks and sabotage

There is potential there, but I just don't like him. Zero charisma and physically unimposing to a ridiculous degree. Maybe there is something there but building a series around this guy seems odd to me. Did anyone who watched R1 want to find out more about him?
-
@rancid-schnitzel i thought his character was actually reasonably popular (disney obviously did), definitely dont remember the hate other characters have got, i don't DISlike him, i found the aspect of his character where he's been fighting the empire since a little kid, resenting these people that come at the last minute as posers kind of cool

Tbh Disney don't know their arse from their elbow. I'm not sure what you mean by hate the other characters got. Unlike the dross offered up by the sequels I thought it was a really good and interesting group of characters. I even liked the Samurai dude. The green Akbar was cool. As too was that pilot with the mo. Trouble is they killed them all off and the 2 leads were a bit meh. But shit I'll give it a watch. Mando gave them something of a blueprint so let's hope they stick to it!
-
@rancid-schnitzel i think Disney have very much proven they do know what their doing in regards to the TV universe, my understanding is Feloni is overseeing or at least a a producer on all the shows
I only mention the hate that other character have got (jar jar, rose, finn etc) because you said you didn't like him and asked the question "Did anyone who watched R1 want to find out more about him?"...and i thought yes, i think some people did and that he at least was not on the list of "never want to hear about him again" characters as far as i know

To be fair, we've seen one TV series so far.
I never said I hated him and would never place him in the same league as Jar Jar or Rose. Or Locksmith Gimp. I just don't think there is much interest or excitement regarding him. A meh character so to speak. I feel that with such a ridiculously vast array of characters and storys to choose from, it's kind of underwhelming to base a series around a guy who's story has really already been told. But well see...A bit of Googling tells me that Rogue Squadron has been removed from the production schedule. That's one I was looking forward to so rather pissed off. They just can't seen to get the film thing right.
