It was noticeable months ago that the Dem media was going after Biden. Thats continued (see Axelrod recently)
I thought that was a sign they were comfortable with Warren.. then the same thing started happening to her over the last two weeks.
Criticisms of her health care plan, how its funded, wealth tax and general attacks her avoiding questionsBut that could've happened at any time? Those plans have existed for months
So why now?
Oh it seems Bloomberg is getting into the race
The rumours about him early in the year was that he didn't want to run but wanted to be VP and financially support another candidate.
I guess there was no one he wanted to support? If he does fully get in, it will be one Centrist Dem vs several Progressive Dems for the rest of the primaries. He might pull it off the same way Trump did, the others are fighting for the same votes.

@Duluth Something odd is going on alright though it could just be really appalling candidates doing stupid things. Surely Hillary won't run again....surely.....
Oh please god let her run again .
Please .

do you think Kamala “ top tier candidate” Harris was the one the dems really wanted?
It's obvious when the media are pushing/attacking someone isn't it? Kamala was pushed for a month then she reacted poorly to Tulsi and the media support vanished
I think they've mostly been supporting Warren though. Well, they were until very recently

Warren really needs Bernie to drop out.
Otherwise the progressive vote is split and she could lose.
Bloomberg should be a good candidate on paper.
Successful businessman, moderate left, but what will the loony left make of it?
Does their desire for progressivism trump their need to beat Trump?Trump would not want Bloomberg. (even though he is older than Biden and can be lambasted over his pro-China comments)
He would want Warren. -

Gigidy!
Kudos to them for actually having him on the show . I never want to watch that show again though if that’s what it’s normally like .

@jegga I'd take that any day over the echo chamber it most usually resembles, I'm thinking that recent Q&A episode as an example of where 5 feminists end up going without a dissenting voice.
My favourite moment was Trump calling Whoopi out on her defence of child r4p3 by Polanski..and mentioning the Epstein whistleblower being fired thanks to their own network.

She managed to get past that pretty quickly unfortunately. Trying to pretend the Drudge report was something they’d never heard of was weak , it was one of the first online political sites and made the Clinton lewinsky scandal public.

@Duluth
I've always wondered what the chain of command is in these media decisions as to who they support.Who is ultimately deciding?
Are they indirectly in contact with the DNC through surrogates with the DNC looking hard at internal polling?
Is it Dem donors calling the shots?
Or is it the heads of the media agencies themselves?I know when Trump first ran Fox were against him, but his popularity with the Repub' base was so overwhelming that they had no choice but to get on board.
The Dems are in a bit of a pickle.
Bloomberg is 77 but may appear younger than Biden.
He will take votes from Biden's - which means Biden is done.
Sanders is too far left and not supported by left wing establishment media.Warren looks the best bet but has not appeared on national stage campaigning yet. I would say her personality is quite phony.
She is smart in an intellectual way, but she comes across as goofy. If nominated, she either sells out progressives or loses the swing states.

So the apparent Whistle-blower in the whole Ukraine impeachment saga has been named in media for a few days now and there are questions about links to the Dems and Biden. Youtube and especially Facebook has been going 'scorched earth' removing posts with his name and in some cases banning them.
What a delightful time to be alive.

Wasn't sure where to post the following so trolled through the politics forum and this seems closest.
I think this is a pretty fair reflection on in grained ideologies, and worth sharing.

Interesting that two stories down on the Herald web site was a whinge fest about Anna Paquin not getting enough lines in a story about someone who isn't her character because misogyny.

Tim pool raised an interesting point , this is a guy who has a huge ego and likes people loving him . If the left hadn’t turned on him right from the start- they never gave him a chance in particular the left wing media - they probably could have got some serious policy wins out of him by now . I’m sure he would love a more effective health insurance system to be called Trumpcare for example.
Instead we’ve had news outlets , the dems and the entertainment industry using him as a way to gain attention for themselves. I think maybe in the analysis of the Trump presidency after he leaves office in 2024 that’s something that really needs to be owned by the various cretins who used his presidency for their own ends .Stephen Colbert who just cost us $100000 is a perfect example , he was on the verge of being dumped on his show for James Corden till he started thrashwanking every night about Trump and now his tired act is suddenly relevant

Was talking to a friend tonight who is a surgeon in LA. His colleague was asked to cut the breast buds out of a four year old this week. A four year old. Fucking crazy.
I have partied with trans people in London, good times all around. This shit is insane.

What the fuck ? Did he do the surgery? Ethical considerations aside there’s got to be a huge lawsuit from the kid when they grow up
