some terrible reffing decision have gone against the Canes. But even so the coaches need to have a serious look at their forward selections. As this is looking like a potential thrashing

Great watching a side where players just do the right thing. So clinical.

Liking the Crusader loosies too. Seem more effective than last year. Blackadder making a good impression and Grace doing what he does best in the lineouts. Good solid players.

I know it gets said to death on here, but how do the Hurricanes expect to compete with that pack? Their 9-10 combo came under the spotlight but that's the least of their problems with the lightweight forward pack they're fielding atm.

They’d be much better beefing up a bit - Ardie has hardly been involved and Kirifi is busy but a bit ineffective, then there is Prinsep. That line out was a key chance which they fucked up.

I’m not sure what Flanders did wrong.

Blackadder has bulked up and it’s showing in his carries

He’s looked really good. I’m not sure they’re being challenged very strongly though - the match-up against the Blues will be fascinating.

Like @Chris said, the Blues are another level. Last year it seemed the Crusaders won despite the loose forwards. So far this year the loosies are contributing.

@winger which decisions are you talking about ..?.in my opinion the only marginal one was the pass Mitchell Drummond threw to Mounga when the Saders scored ..I thought it was forward ,but the TMO made the call based on not enough evidence showing it had gone forward ,as for the Goodhue v Kirifi incident, nothing in it ..officials got that correct ..if that’s the officials only 2 questionable decisions..,there’s been about 10-12 errors the Canes have made in terms of defence and discipline..,not to mention 2 clear cut chances not taken

Hopefully there is a team that can push the Saders because right now this competition is getting pretty boring. How many years has it been since the Saders weren’t easily the best team in NZ? 5 (I’m guessing 2016).

@crazy-horse in these first 2 games I have actually been really impressed with Young Macleod at12 ..Goodhue has missed the odd tackle ,but has still got those classy touches

Agree. McLeod has been better than I was expecting.

@gt12 The competition itself is of a fairly weak standard this year whether NZ rugby fans wanna admit it or not.

True I Think the Blues can big game that one
It’s up to the other teams to lift if we drag the Crusaders down it drags NZ down
It’s the same as the 1980s when Auckland won by 30 every game

@african-monkey Yeah, other than the Crusaders and Blues the depth is really poor.
