They got both of those wrong - Havili prob deserved yellow and that deserves red

But Havilli is all good to actually strangle Barrett, makes no sense.

@gunner Couldn't see the impact point clearly on that angle? Is it first contact to the head for a red?

    Somebody post that flowchart.

Don't disagree that it's lucky to be yellow in the context of current rulings, but I also think it SHOULD be only yellow. There was no intent to hurt (like a big punch), no way to inflict real harm if it went slightly askew (like a tip tackle or neck roll)

It was a dickhead move, and a yellow is right.

How did they decide that slid up from the chest when they watched the same replay as us?
Cop out. I agree with Ardie though that they should have YCd the neck roll.
Just should have RCd that. Deliberate forearm to the throat of a prone player.

Laumape ran a nice line with good acceleration for his try. A couple of nice short passes before it. Then he does two dumb things to end the half.

Throat / neck is vulnerable area.

Scott Barrett is great at placing pressure on at tackle ball situation.

They are incredibly inaccurate. When you look at the Saders, that’s the difference, its a surprise when someone doesn’t do their job. With the Canes (and Chiefs) its the opposite.

I’m convinced that the Saders aren’t as good as the other NZ teams allow them to be as they consistently give them opportunities (the Saders are very good though, that’s not my point)

We do like to carry ex leaguies who like to do stupid things like shoulder charges etc. maybe that’s what he needs to get in black?

I have to say that Williams really does see things that aren’t there and doesn’t see things that are.
He’s quite baffling and judging by the player reactions they think so to.
He had a running discussion with the halfbacks trying to explain why a ball sitting well out the back of a ruck/scrum isn’t out in his opinion

Just like there was no intent to hurt when old mate from Scotland got marched a couple of weeks ago for a forearm to the neck area going into a tackle.

This one is worse IMO, he deliberately dropped his forearm into a guy who was on the ground.

He did that to hurt him too, it’s a RC and pretty dirty

@crucial was one where Hall had hands on at the back for several seconds, the canes player advances, ref must have warned him, then you hear him say to the player: best not to try or something like that.

NZ refs seem to look very, very hard for reasons to mitigate against cards.

I'm not sure it does us a favour when we're playing international rugby, because it seems to me that refs from most other countries are much more willing to dish cards - and our players don't learn to be disciplined enough.

I'll be pretty surprised if the judiciary don't decide that meets the red card threshold. That was actually a bit of dirt.
