@foobanz That's sad news. I hope his surgery goes well and wish him all the best for life after his (too) short rugby career.

    16 ASAFO AUMUA
    17 TEVITA MAFILEO
    18 ALEX FIDOW
    20 VAEA FIFITA

    I guess 16,18 & 20 have all been injured

    And Mafileo covers loosehead

Everyone knows my views on Blackwell. But regardless this looks the best side for some time. Unsure if Rayasi was available or not. But Goosen might be seen as a better defender. And Rakete-Stones might if available might be unhappy. And hopefully some of the other players (like Toala) get a run in the Aussie games

Wheres Le'aupepe. Is he not considered good enough. Or injured again this year?

Rayasi is available he was running around no problem in the videos on Instagram...knowing Holland probably thinks he’s tired and needs a rest 🙄

    quote from Holland
"In the backs, Salesi Rayasi was dropped from the 23 for what Holland described as his work off the ball in Auckland"

@foobanz good to know, poor from the Canes for not mentioning it. Shouldn't they have brought in a replacement then considering he was named in the initial squad?

Wonder if Parsons or Cridge will get a look in now?

    Wrong province.

@african-monkey The Chiefs or Highlanders should look to pick up him, Jacob Pierce, Jarred Adams, Ethan Roots, Tanielu Tele'a, and Teague McElroy.

@chris this is the Canes coaching mindset problem in a nutshell IMHO

Rayasi is dangerous, he's hard to defend. He can score tries, and create tries

We aren't go to win if we don't have players like this

That should overshadow any perceived work rate issue, which a good coach would be able to solve.

to be honest I haven't noticed this with Rayasi. Rayasi is not why we're losing and for Holland to mention this publicly is incredibly disappointing

He can't see problems which 99% of fans point out here and on Facebook each week

Yeah totally agree. the Canes have always been hard to beat because of their X factor players as they are unpredictable. It seems now these coaches are dampening the X factor down for journeyman.

@foobanz yeah to publicly criticize him is well out of order, especially for someone that isn't exactly doing a good job in his own role.

Get your head out of your arse Jason Holland and start selecting the team on ability instead of players that you have a love affair with. The selections are beyond a joke, the guy has a piss poor winning record and if this was any other competition he would have been booted by now, let alone warrenting a contract extension.

Holland commented about Rayasi's workrate off the ball earlier in the season so this isn't new. I do think it is a big work-on for him. I'd still select Rayasi over Savea though!

On the other hand at least hes telling the fans whats going on. I want more of this. I don't agree but we know Holland is a defence first, high work rate man. As does Rayasi so he can now plan accordingly

The main issue is his defence first approach isn't really working too well this year

Surely Rayasi switches teams next year, it's criminal that he's not being played. Would fit right in at the Chiefs.
