Facing teams coming off byes two weeks in a row seem harsh

Three weeks in a row. The Highlanders went alright against the Crusaders. 😉

spent our load though didn't we, two season ending injuries from that game

    @tim

I would pick both the Harbour locks. But the fact we haven't seen Pierce yet makes me think he's on the outer for some reason

Goodhue vs Darry? I'm not sure there's a big difference in physicality

That guys needs to move south. We'd love him in Chiefs country.

@tim Yeah not sold on Darry just yet especially if Tuipulotu isn't there with him. Doubt Pierce will be seen again in a Blues jersey again sadly so count him out. Wouldn't mind even seeing Robinson in at lock but atm, I'd settle for GCT and Goodhue instead of Darry with Robinson covering lock.

@duluth think goodhue is under rated as a scrummaging lock.

Aside from his poor hands a few weeks back, he is usually very good in the air.

He seems a bit up and down though.

Connor Garden-Bachop, has been ruled out for the season after breaking his wrist, PPP also unavailable due to injury, jesus that sucks

Season ending injuries: Jermaine Ainsley (ankle), Fetuli Paea (ankle), Freedom Vaahakalo (foot), Folau Fakatava (knee), Thomas Umaga-Jensen (wrist), Connor Garden-Bachop (wrist), Liam Squire (knee).

in my mind Collins starts or he doesn't play, not likely to come on and turn a game around

@kiwiwomble yeah I'd think he'd be a better option alongside Gregory (his experience as opposed to Sio's, er, explosiveness...)

    Very conservative Blues side.

Once again Leon can't settle on a halfback. His 3rd season as coach and he simply rotates almost every week.

I expect to see a lot of the youngsters in the blues squad given opportunity during Trans Ta$man comp because there are a heap of players who have yet to play/barely played during SRA.

How's that Ray Niuia bloke as well - he's played about 2 games for the Blues last February and yet to be fit since.

Wonder if it's trying to match a game plan. That said, he's been pretty consistent with other selections - rotating props, but the backline in general, and 8/10/15 have been pretty consistent.

@nzzp yeah for me if it was game specific, you'd be changing other positions, but the consistency at 8 & 10 while chopping/changing the starting 9 and the bench doesnt stack up, you have to wonder what Leons plan is there.

I wouldn't mind us trying Tanielu Telea and Emoni Narawa in the 22 and 23 jerseys for a game at some point. They cover 12 - 15. We could use a bit more pace and power off the bench.

If the 9s are Ruru and Christie, I'd prefer latter to start.
