Even more changes for the Chiefs than I predicted.

@bovidae that's a very different squad. 2 debutants starting and potentially 4 more on the bench. Dunno about Wainui at 13 and Sullivan playing at all. It's just funny how the Chiefs played it down then named this squad.

    Unavailable for selection:
Atu Moli (hips), Alex Nankivell (finger), Chase Tiatia (concussion), Kaylum Boshier (shoulder), Laghlan McWhannell (knee), Luke Jacobson (concussion), Mitchell Karpik (knee), Reuben O’Neill (concussion), Sam Cane (shoulder/pectoral), Simon Parker (foot), Quinn Tupaea (knee).

Nankivell probably would have played I think.

Edit: Ah Kuoi also has concussion symptoms.

Good point in that article that not only did the Chiefs get the draw with a long run of games (including SRTT) but then get the worst travel schedule on top by having to cross the Ta$man every week.

I will be keen to see Taulani at this level.

Can’t see us winning many lineouts with those throwers though.

Looks like an interesting contest after seeing those teams. Don't quite understand the Blues selection. Could have given a lot more fringe guys a chance. Wonder what the team spirit is like after that call. Don't think the Chiefs fringe guys will lack motivation on Saturday

Yeah, that was the main point of me posting that. A minimum of 10 games in a row without a bye and the trans- Ta$man schedule is a tough ask. As McMillan says, if the Blues had got a losing BP last round the Chiefs team would have been different. But they didn't...

This really makes tipping difficult this week. Zero idea what will happen.

Pity that points difference wasn’t the key metric when teams finish on same points.

The Jacobson non-try in first match is potentially only reason Blues aren’t going in with good shot at final.

He could become the new Norm Maxwell, given his lean frame. But I'd like him to add 10 kgs of muscle in order to make him more effective in the collisions.

@act-crusader don't you dare try and claim underdog status.

10 time champs playing at home (where they have never lost a playoff game) try to claim underdog status. Gotta love the NZ mentality.

You’re only as good as your last game and the Chiefs won that one...

So we're basically playing the Chiefs Development team. We should win?

Good to see Sullivan and Choat in the team.

Heem is a weird one. He should only be played if all our other wingers are injured.

Looks like they've already given up on Plummer at 10.

I think that Plummer last week was a selection trying a little hard to be cute. All the coaches know how detailed the pre-game analysis is from the Saders so try to mix things up and show a picture they haven't seen.

The question mark made me laugh.

I think the $1.87 for points starts of 15.5 is great value as I can see a demolition here. Might be the record score of the tournament.

That can't be right can it? Has Messam played 179 games? What is the Super Rugby record??
