I’m seeing a Steely Dan tribute band….actually I need to confirm with my mate who organised it that it’s still on.
That’s about as good as it gets for me at the moment.
-
Very reluctant to commit at the moment. The tickets are sold way too far in advance IMO.
If it was just the gig it wouldn't be so bad but if it involves travel/accomodation etc...

it got announced this morning. fucking short lead time but i would say it's been on the burner for a while subject to Dictator Dan releasing the shackles a bit. Which he has done

I’ve got Royal Blood next month, then in June, Queen, Foo Fighters and Chili Peppers. All in London. First 2 at the O2 (local to me), last 2 at the Olympic Stadium.
Also going to a 3 day Americana festival in Tunbridge Wells in June with Van Morrison headlining.
-
My last concert ended up being half a gig (Elton John). I still have tickets for a postponed concert in Sydney, originally scheduled for Nov 2020. If the band (Dream Theater) returns they will be on a completely different tour cycle with a new album released since then. The same for the Iron Maiden concert in Auckland.
-
Assume my cancelled GnR tickets will come around again at some point
Had Amity Affliction cancel already this month
Am off to the Parkes Festival in April as my kid is playing a few gigs there
-
@voodoo GnR is supposed to be November this year

O2 is currently a partially outdoor venue isn't it?
-
I've just got Shihad and GnR booked so far. I assume Reb Fountain will re-schedule at some point.
I can't remember if I bought a ticket for IDLES or not... I hope so, as it looks to be sold-out now.
And I live across the road from Meow... so probably pretty much everything that they host, if they're still running.
I've been away from Wellington since 25th-Dec... once I get back, I'll scan all the websites for all the gigs, and go on a ticket-buying-binge. -
-
Cancelled so far: Faith No More, Ozzy Osbourne
Still on: Tool, Pearl Jam, Foo FightersCould have been an epic concert year, I guess at the moment it's still pretty awesome.

It is indeed. Built in 1998 with a 25 year life on the roof material evidently …

Missed out on Madness and Squeeze in December, went skiing instead.
But have the rescheduled Stereophonics and Tom Jones gig in June to look forward to.
Not even Drakeford can scupper this.

The two best ones got cancelled. Stink.
Just goes to show if you sing War Pigs your chances of a gig are in danger.

Have you got your knickers ready to throw at Tom?
Good to hear on the 'Phonics latest recording that Kelly's voice is returning to it's previous roughness. After the op on his vocal chords I saw a few performances on youtube where his vocals had gone quite 'normal'.

No one should pay money to watch Ozzy sing nowadays.

I disagree. Whilst he is a shambling mess when interviewed he still seems able to turn it on when on stage.

i follow a few of my favourite bands on social media. some are more active than others...
but the fucking quality of festivals they are all playing this year is incredible.
The Foos are playing one that is 4 days. And there are bands i really want to see on all 4 days.
Europe and the US get heaps and heaps of them. Aus gets none. Fuck the BDO used to be awesome in the 90s, and it was only 1 days

Saw Tom last year at the twells Hop farm. Waaaay less atmosphere than I'd expected and pretty meh. Didn't even catch my knickers - prolly should have removed them first.
-
Supposed to be seeing Crowded House in a few weeks in Perth - hope it comes off 🤞
-
@nevorian even if it doesn’t,
Don’t dream it’s over. -
@mariner4life rumour is a Foo Fighters tour in November....

This deserved about 10 likes. I’m assuming the rona has removed everyone’s funny bones, I genuinely guffawed a lot.

Playing at the stadium on the 15th.
-
Yep all confirmed now after a few tease photos on FF social media:
-
@nta diary marked! Sounded like a good time last week:
‘A howling, raucous night of celebration’ – The Age
‘A superlative performance that will set the bar high for all other international acts to follow’ – The Australian
‘As the lights dimmed and the crowd roared, the Foo Fighters appeared before us, feeling like a sight for sore eyes in the wake of empty stages and cancelled tours. Frontman Dave Grohl walked around the stage, simply staring back at the crowd as we all wordlessly exchanged the sentiment that it had been far too long for such an event’ – Rolling Stone AU
-
@voodoo I went with a mate to the SFS concert in 2011. Best concert I've been to, no doubt. It was about 2 hours in the main set (after Tenacious D!) and then this happened after they exited the stage.
-
@nta sorry that's just lame and self indulgent
-
Presale for Frontier Touring goes on sale 5PM tomorrow. Taking the whole family and don't care what tickets cost.
-

-
I've got Snoop Dogg lined up in November, and still have open tickets to Elton John from his canceled concerts a couple of years back. Two quite contrasting events, I realise.
Foo Fighters are tempting, although I've seen them a handful of times already, so might sit this round out. I'd say they've still got a few more tours here left in them.

Snoop, EJ, and FF, that's a wicked trifecta.
