A 6:2 bench too.

@crucial Can't wait for this one. I'm a Canes man. but regardless am salivating over this game!

A 6:2 bench too.
That may be a necessary looking at the unavailable list. Gives a chance to some forwards that haven't had a go yet to get some gametime.
Midfield cover is a bit scary though. Gatland to shuffle out one spot? -

Midfield cover is a bit scary though. Gatland to shuffle out one spot?I would've thought Ioane would be more likely to cover midfield

No certainty this game will go ahead,
The Crusaders are still unable to name a 23 as yet. -

Plus the LFs have been are covid problems now.And there was an article earlier in the week that Abraham Pole had joined the Highlanders.
Edit: Actually I may have misinterpreted that.
The quote in question:
With that in mind, there is pool of players available to all clubs to fill in gaps where and when needed, and Dermody said the Highlanders had dipped into that group this week. “We’ve definitely had to pull guys in,” he said. “A lot of the players have already been with other teams as well, so they’ve been through a preseason or been in teams for two or three weeks already, covering guys. “Those guys are fit and ready, so it’s pretty pleasing that we can call on guys at a good level to be able to come in and do a job.” Such players include Otago prop Abraham Pole, who has been with the Crusaders, and winger Freedom Vahaakolo, who spent the preseason with the Crusaders.
Not sure if they're saying Pole and Vahaakolo joined the Highlanders, or if they're just part of the wider pool that all teams can pull in.

Yes he has that’s another prop down.

Midfield cover is a bit scary though. Gatland to shuffle out one spot?We don't know the covid situation of each player but having both Boshier and Jacobson on the bench does seem excessive. Tiatia and Lowe could have provided midfield cover.
-
@bovidae Lol just saw that. I felt he has earned that debut for several years now!

Yes he has that’s another prop down.
Can Abraham Pole still switch teams, considering he has played for the Crusaders during the regular season and not just preseason?

I think he can, as he is in that pool of players NZRU gave the franchises before the Queenstown bubble they can draw from in case of a covid outbreak.
In saying that I was surprised the rumour was he went to the Landers as the Crusaders have Prop injuries before Covid even hit the squad.Brewis and then Jager now maybe Moody.
Not confirmed he has gone to Highlanders. -

Yeah seems strange to have Ioane instead of one of them if they're available then. Trask covers ten.

I'm down in the Tron seeing son at Uni this weekend, so I hope this goes ahead.
Although I can't, in good concience, cheer either team!

Pretty handy Crusaders team assuming they can all make it to the starting line.
Chiefs attack might struggle without ALB, PGS and Narawa.

Underdogs even at home. That will give us to some inspiration. -

All this weeks fixtures are a repeat of 2 weeks ago. No one ever accused NZR of having an imagination.
-
@chris my count is 14 crusaders from recent all black squads and 10 from chiefs. Looks fairly evenly matched though. Should be a good contest.
-
@kiwimurph Saders missing Ennor and Moody though. Could be quite telling.
Good to see the Chiefs spreading it around with a big opportunity for several fringe players. Hope we can see Wrampling soon and on the wing. -

I love having rugby to watch, don’t get me wrong, but this is shit. We literally just played these guys.
With nothing but NZ derbies, this competition sucks.

It's ok, you've got your Aussie sports NRL and AFL to watch. You don't need to pretend to be a rugby fan, we'll get by without you.
