Verbal volleys: 'Bully' Kyrgios tops 'soft' Tsitsipas

Verbal volleys: 'Bully' Kyrgios tops 'soft' Tsitsipas

Australian Nick Kyrgios beat fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in a wild, volatile, outburst-filled third-round match at Wimbledon where both players received code violations.

Both things can sort of be true. Nick acts like a tool on court, but Stefanos needs to harden up and let his tennis do the talking.

Amongst the bad behaviour there was a lot of tennis to enjoy, and the crowd were loving it

Tsitsipas let Kyrgios get inside his head.

To knock out Tsitsipas out in 4 sets is a good effort.

Someone posted on twitter the other day some words that made me reassess my opinion of Nick Kyrgios. Paraphrasing here, but "He hates his fucking job and still turns up to do it. I can relate to that"

Fuck, i cannot wait for the angst him making the final would cause in all the people who love to pile in and call him a flog and how he doesn't represent Australia, if he is in a Grand Slam final.

@mariner4life Big fan of Rafa but I’ll be cheering on big Nick. Plus he loves his bball and Air J’s. He’s been playing heaps of pick up ball in Sydney to hone his fitness.

Gotta be so distracting for opponents of Kyrgios eh, he's yabbering away like a madman the whole time.

So dickish at times though eh - had a go at Garin yesterday for calling a review - a couple of games after he himself called for a review (that was even worse).

He's a baller trapped in a tennis player's body. Even his outfit is basically something he probably wears to pick up games

Rafa is old, he's injured, he's a claycourt specialist who has no business beating someone of Kyrios' talent on grass.

But, Roger can tell Nick some stories about Rafa's mental strength - and Nick is way more flaky than the Fed.

Sux for Rafa, would have been great to see him go for the grand slam. Big payday for Nick, what another million in the bank.

@bayimports There's circularity in the three who are left.

                                    Novak is 1-0 over Cam.

And Cam is 2-1 over Nick.

                                    My money is on Novak.
