All Blacks v Ireland - 2nd Test

We’ll that was a strange game, hard to get any flow with the cards and with the Irish playing so well.
I’m going to buck the trend here and say it’s far too early to panic. This AB team thrashed this same Irish team a week ago. You don’t go from being an excellent team to a poor one in one week. You can however put in a bad performance as we saw.
Irish attack was very good, the face balls and putting runners into gaps or aimed at weak shoulders was outstanding. Also, the AB’s spent most of the game with either 13 or 14 men.
There might be a few changes next week, I don’t think the loose trio experiment had a chance to bear fruit but if we can get either Whitelock back or Va’ai, even Patty at lock to free up Barrett back at 6. Jordan for Fainga’anuku, Taukei’aho for Taylor, Akira for PGS and Clarke off the bench.

Are NZ playing Wales and Scotland in Nov? May as well knock those unbeaten records out whilst Foster is at the helm.
We’ve beaten you
Last century

@Machpants
He won't resign, why would he?
His incompetence isn't limited to his coaching.Plus the same morons who picked him would rather the ABs lose than have to take responsibility for their actions. From day one the majority of people aware of the situation around the world and especially in NZ knew it was a bad decision.

Sounds like a certain other blond clown over here in UK who is blind and wouldnt resign. Word wasnt even in the vocabulary -
@Jailbreak7 I dunno, Broad is still pretty handy
-
@Victor-Meldrew yup and it is a mystery, some of his grubbers are great but most of his kicks are...Russian roulette material..

One last thing, the ABs are the reverse Black Caps. Win or lose the opposition fans and "neutrals" will dislike them. There is nothing that will change that. Black Caps were the plucky losers who came good, ABs were a dominant team that have fallen off. Will take another 100 years of a decent BCs and mediocre ABs before people start calling the BCs cheats and ABs gentlemen regardless.
Point being that it doesn't matter if you are good losers. Only winners are grinners.

Where's Razor.
Some big calls need to be made. Don't leave it until next year

@MiketheSnow First event (green): Ofa's yellow card. Second event (orange): Angus' red card. Both TH props. Thought they needed uncontested scrums because they forgot Bower could have been moved to TH. Because they went for uncontested scrums, they needed to lose another player (they chose Ardie). So off were Ofa, Angus and Ardie = 12 players.
Did Ross come on when Ardie went off?
Yes
So it was a fuck up by the officials to allow Ross on according to that table. Should have just been Ardie (or whoever) off and ABs down to 12 until the yellow ended.
But also a big fuck up by the AB management trying to do a pointless swap of Ross and Ardie which still lead to uncontested scrums and Ardie missing the rest of the game.Quoting myself
Found this that explains it all a bit better.
linkSummary:
Ross on, Ardie off because they had a front rower, even if he couldn’t play that side. Therefore uncontested.Refs messed up by not taking an extra AB off until ofa came back and again by not letting Ardie back on. Dalton should have been the one to stay off because he was replaced by Angus.

@African-Monkey good summary, I agree. But we have to nurse Whitelock to the RWC as he has had a lot of miles but we can't lose that canny experience.
-
All set up for a thriller next week now. Well done Ireland.
Hope Sotutu is on bench and Jordan and Samisoni starting. Paps off his game so maybe try Akira too. PGS and LF don't seem skilled enough for pressure tests to me.
Will we see a new tight head in squad next week? Ofa was not good tonite.
Biggest issue in my view is our ineffective kicking and weak chasing.
Could not follow Savea going off when LF was the obvious casualty.

Foster now has the worst win % of any All Blacks coach since 1980, including losing to Argentina once and Ireland twice.

I think the scoreline last week flattered us.

i honestly don't know why they selected him. How could he have been the best candidate with his record? And his record isn't that much better now.

And he has a fair lump of wins vs a depleted Wallabies minus their overseas stalwarts (Kerevi, Cooper, etc..) Tonga, Fiji, Italy, USA and Wales C in those 16 wins.
