We will lose to Australia this year, unless we get rid of these fucking losers.

Seriously though, after what transpired last week, unless Fozzie walks, there is zero chance he leaves, and lets just say he did leave or they did sack him, who would want to take this on right now?

After RC there is time for a no stress/low expectation NH tour

A chance to coach the All Blacks? Loads of people would take it. Leon McDonald, say, or Clayton McMillan. They would have to wait decades to see their next chance.

It's so bad now that most halfway qualified coaches would be a step up.

Sure it would be a gamble, but I would rather see that than an inevitable decline further.

    Good article.

How many bad decisions has Robinson made? I'm starting to lose count.

@Chester-Draws well given only 2 serious applicants in 2019 and how NZR have handled themselves in recent weeks, the state the squad, confidence-wise, I dont think it is as plum of a gig as you think!

I don't mind so much losing the Bled. It would be to a Kiwi coach. And arguably the Wallabies are playing fresher, more inventive rugby.

Key point explaining the lack of self-awareness.
"The senior players gathered behind “our coach” and backed the bloke that picks them. (Big surprise!)"

The lack of applicants in 2019 was because the NZR made it very clear that Foster was going to get it. So the other potential applicants (Rennie, Joseph) went out and looked for other jobs -- and unsurprisingly found good ones, given their quality. In the meantime we have some new talent coming through, with McDonald -- who has been able to turn around a team in a similar rut -- and older ones like Gatland who might like it to round off his CV.

The confidence of the players will revive pretty quickly. It only took one win in Africa to make them much happier.

I also think the new coach will see out almost all the current board of the NZR. How many of the fish-heads are going to be reappointed after this debacle? Apparently not even one had the gumption to vote against Foster.

This really pisses me off - weak sauce 'reasons'. Ignoring that Sami was on fire and hoping the combo approach would see a full front row change work out. If both props had niggles then why put them back onfield after a 10min break ffs? I know they were probably getting some treatment but that doesn't stack up imo.

The comments on Perofeta are infuriating - “Again, Stephen was a guy we really wanted to get on, we think he can inject stuff into our attack with his footwork and his second receiver role. But it was a game that didn’t quite flow that way.”

You fuckers put him on with 55 seconds to go. That is the dumbest shit I've heard and makes him look even more foolish. Yeah we thought this guy could really help crack open the game, but we waited till the game was all but over so we could really surprise the Pumas!! They didn't see it coming, suckers!

    oh... wait.

@Paekakboyz The fact that foster thinks some slick footwork would’ve saved the ABs is all you need to know. Perofeta would have been smashed just like every other AB was.

@broughie I think he could have made a difference in the first 40, but that would have unraveled the starting backline. He wouldn't start at 10 so would that mean jordie to 12 and Perofeta at 15? Setting aside the case for Will to be the starting 15.

They select their way in to deadends and stick with players who aren't performing.

Aaron Smith coming off with 20 to go was poor as well. He was playing OK, but more to the point what we needed was experience and cool heads, not a guy with basically no experience.

Perofeta deserved to get selected in the squad from his form but given the zero faith shown in him they might as well have selected another player and had Jordie as the 3rd 10.
