what a try! What ana verage kick from Hickey! So funny
-
Hickey with the Try assist 😤🤣
-
Brave effort from Hickey, but he is rather small.

@African-Monkey its staggering Auckland are not prepared to invest in Manukau Rovers first five Faletoi Peni who was outstanding in the Gallaher Shield final and throughout the club season but are prepared to stick with Simon Hickey who does’nt offer any running threat
I'm guessing Hickey was on a multi-year deal. Coaches seem to love him despite the lack of production.
-
Dazel the ultimate journeyman.. well besides hickey of course
-
Not clear and obvious, unfortunately. That deserved to be a try.
-
Horrendous cover defence from Auckland there.
-
Talking about backing yourself!
-
Awesome try from the Turbos player, what a piss poor defence from Aucks.

good effort, but all the hands under it. No chance it got down.
Good Manawatu try again though - well done Green 7
-
oh shoot I took Auckland 13+ don't bottle it boys🙂
-
Terrible defense from us.
-
Mike Fraser is having a bit of a shocker.
-
Diving after the whistle was dumb.
-
that was a sweet short pass on the sideline, 8 to 6

Yeah, great skills in no space.
-
More good skills, nice direct running too.
-
Bloody hell. Zarn Sullivan comes on as a midfield replacement. Are we ever going to see him at 10?

that was a classy last try
-
Great try to finish things off with our 2 best Rayasi and Dalzell heavily involved.
Impressive performance from an inexperienced Auckland side. Sam Wye and Hamdahn Tuipilotu look the goods.
-
Wye looks a lot better than Paea to me. He should get the halfback bench spot on the weekend.
-
Good job Auckland. Huge match on Sunday😄
-
@FakatavaAllBlack Funnily enough it could be a bit of a banana skin. They did very well away at Tasman last week.
-
-
@Dice Thought Paea was ok too but yeah, Wye really came on and began to speed things up.
A bit of competition at halfback now, Funaki won't want to sit out too many more games.
-
Fuck was this a non weekend game?
I thought we'd moved beyond weekday games dammit
-
-
Thought Peita went very well. Would like to see him in the mix at 6 more rather than always playing 2 opensides in Gibson and Choat.
Hopefully both his and Tuipulotu's injuries aren't too bad.
-
We need to get Ekuasi in the starting line-up. Probably won't happen this week with the short turnaround, but he should definitely be in there next week. There's a bit of young JC in his game.
Hainsworth-Fa'aofo was quality off the bench. Another promising loosie to look out for.
-
I was pleased with all of the young forwards. You can see what the team will look like in 2-3 years
Beehre was tidy in the lineout and did plenty of hard carries in the middle of the field. Probably not going to force his way into the top xv this year but will do a reasonable job if needed. He looks like a guy with a high ceiling.
Hamdahn Tuipulotu was impressive. One huge scrum and some very accurate powerful work around the field.
Hopefully in a few weeks the 4 loosies in the 23 will be Choat, Gibson, Ekuasi & Peita (although we know Alama will probably keep picking Pugh)
-
Other than that first scrum and a little bit of fringe defence, Auckland played very well.
I do like Luke Campbell’s passing. Very swift from the base without any steps. Pretty accurate too.
