Strong form during pre-season and with the Canterbury B’s has seen Liam Allen also promoted to the NPC side along with Ben Funnell, who’s been called into the cover hooker, with Brodie McAlister and Shilo Klien both out with injury. Promising youngsters George Bell, Dominic Gardiner and Corey Kellow have all been rewarded with their first starts in 2022 as Canterbury shuffle the deck for Friday’s nights Bunnings Warehouse NPC clash against Tasman in Blenheim.

The last few months have been spent wondering when I would get over Long Covid and if I’d ever recover enough to get back on the field again.
A week ago I played my first game of rugby since COVID affected my heart. Yesterday I was able to back it up and was even more special to share it with my brother 🤝🏾
I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported, messaged, prayed for and helped me to get back to doing what I love. This one’s for you 🫶🏾❤️
