Got some money on Prince of Arran but everything else went to nutha... didn't even know Counter Culture or whatever it's called was in the race until it hit the front.

Cliffs of Moher has been put down after breaking down a few hundred metres into the race.....

Broke down right in front of the grandstands.

Went to the TAB at my lunch break to smash Cross Counter, but left my card at home and only had $20 in my wallet. But $240 in the hand is better than most of my previous Melbourne Cup punts.

@mariner4life yea Im up slightly, I've started playing the numbers game a bit more than I used to, so picking up the odd win here and there to cover my bets but every even nower and thener I get one which puts me into the good.

But I'm still smalltime, still only bet small, no more than $5 per bet, I had to put a trigger on my account as I accidentally did a boxed first 4 home a week or so back, but forgot to % it and it cost me quite a few more dollars than I like to lose - wouldnt have been regretting it if the horse that came 6th had finished 4th...

Hope you have collected it @infidel pre posting that. Seen people post barcodes before and then go to collect and someone has already collected it for them! Nice multi tho!

Ended up for a small bet of cross counter during the day (as posted above) which was a saver at best.

Not only did sportsbet shit itself, but ladbrokes too. I heard the NZ tab app wasnt handling things too well either

I was out at Ellerslie. Had a few winners but hell the amount of roughies that get up in NZ races is crazy compared to aus. Kinda grates ya when the $8 shot you picked out (based on form) to beat the fav does nicely but runs second to some $42 donkey who hasn't been in the top 3 last 8 starts and the once a year punter next to you had $50 each way on

Money is in the bank, always good to get a cheque from the TAB.

Good point re the bar code!

Great ride by McEvoy to win the race, huge finish.

Bowman weighed in 1kg overweight which may have cost him the race.

and they smacked him with a pretty decent ban as well.

They threw the book at Bowman, three charges and about a month holiday.

McEvoy also got a $3k fine for excessive whip use 🤑

Chicago bull race 1 at Flem - smashed it a week or so back and was scratched. $3.50 on monday and money came. Supposed to be quite mature for a 2 year old. Waterhouse horse looks alright too tho as much better price (btw - am playing sportsbet promos for bonus bets back if places)

    Pauper race 1 Hawkesbury

    Collectable in the Oaks.

    My thoughts,
Verry Elegant at end of prep so won't go 2400.
Collectable ran from last in the Etheral Stakes for 4th which had a on speed bias that day I think.

Daughter of Miss Keepsake that won Queensland Oaks.

Looks like a lolly of a race and the omen for us around it is that her cousin died last night with a shattered leg (Savabeel/Villifye filly) so that sucks for us. If Collectable wins, it would have added much more value to this filly

well I'm none from 2 so giving it a miss today (1 bonus bet is not enough to keep me going).

I'll throw something on the Oaks later on

wait, I'm back in, Stealthy Lucas is running in the next at Flemington. Can he do the unthinkable, and give me 4 wins on the trot, all at double figure odds? #newwinx

Was rubbish start for me too. Always a bit of risk involved following mail on random first starters etc but cant often snag real value. Got one later at pakenhem which was ok and saved the day.

Had 'Blazing miss' pop up in my blackbook for Newcastle tomorrow. No comments on it though so no idea why its there but won its trial. It's a race full of first starters tho so hard to tell what the competition is like but if odds are ok then....
