Tasman v Taranaki

Sorry, wrong thread.
-
last passage ref missed a forward pass from Tasman and then a no arms tackle on Naholo
-
hhaa rubbish BOK, calling that not a 50-22 from 50 away
-
and now Tasman score to seal it.
Those 2 passages above (the pass and 50/22) pretty poor really with 'naki in great field position

That's when the TMO has to get involved. Probably the same guy from midweek, so he was happy to stay silent.
-
@Bovidae looked a 50/22 to me in real time, so assume the TMO had been watching it through the same feed...
-
@taniwharugby I thought the same.
Did Moli take the field?
-
@Bovidae not sure sorry, only came in final quarter and wasnt watching too closely.
-
I was switching between games for the last 10 mins. Moli was still on the bench with about 10 mins to go.
-
@Bovidae Not that I saw.
Tasman comfortably in control and then seemed determined to lose it - falling off tackles. Lots of injury disruptions though - Makalio, Segner and Stewart all broken and Nankivell looked pretty ginger as well.
Fetuli Paea actually woke up and exerted himself to set up the match-winner. That might be the best thing I've ever seen him do - I hope @Bones was watching!
Hotham, Aumua and Tavatavanawai probably the best for us in the backs. Willy Havili has been better than Parata.
Sione Havili, Stewart and Segner prominent in the forwards. Hicks a very good lineout option and a big stint for Sykes-Martin at loosehead.

No, he didn't.
-
@Chris-B I too, was fast asleep, but alas didn't wake up, so the myth remains.
Pretty surprised I wasn't woken though, bigstrongpowerful Paea must have shook the world if he was playing even better than usual.
-
Wilson mentioned during the game that Aumua was rumoured to be in contention for the ABs. Surely not. I would have thought he is a wee way off.
-
@Crazy-Horse I mean what other fit 13 would be next in line? Bailyn Sullivan?
-
Is Levi Aumua still contracted to Moana Pasifika? Because that might throw a spanner in the works if they want to select him for the ABs?
-
-
@Tim Well, there you go. Wasn't it the agreement between the Pacific Island Unions and NZR, that as long as players with dual/triple eligibility play for MP, they cannot be selected for the ABs?

Correction: according to the NZR website, Atu Moli came on in the 79th minute for Sam Matenga, who had replaced Isaac Salmon in the 28th minute.
-
Something going on with Moli to be playing so little on the few occasions he makes the 23.

Sullivan, Proctor, PUJ spring to mind. I am probably forgetting someone. All have their strength and weaknesses I suppose. Just never considered Aumua as being close. He is a beast though, especially now that he appears to be a lot fitter.

Proctor
🤮
Hopefully we never have to select that deep.

@Crazy-Horse Levi was really good in this game and is a much better player than he was a couple of years ago, BUT I'd be pretty surprised if this was true.
He's big and strong, but definitely not fast. I've never thought he had anything like an elite skillset, but maybe I'm judging him on what he was a couple of years ago. I'll have to pay more attention to him. I'd have though TUJ was closer if they wanted a really big munter in midfield, but I'm not yet completely convinced of him either.
