It's absurd that Burns is keeping an NZ player out of a starting 10 jersey.

I did not enjoy explaining to the cantabs fan next to me, when they asked who our 10 was because he didn’t look like a 10…that he has more than 10caps for England…

Lio-Willie was has been making the most of Grace’s bad luck. Good workrate again.

And that’s the daming thing, we couldn’t keep him with a fighting chance of fighting for a spot…and on paper he was a long shot for the crusaders…but got his chance and shone

    As usual, watching delayed.

But Mo'unga 's try was rather clever

    Random thought ...

Freddie Burns is ok, but just ok, but why can't we find a 10 that standard?

    Where's McClutchie for example?

The commentators were telling us they just couldn’t fight nd him in the crowd but being such a great guy he was probably hiding among the commoners

Just on Millar, it's a brutal start to the season for the Highlanders draw wise, I'm sure there's more suitable games later in the season to introduce him. Not sure how much value there is in him playing at the moment and copping 50-60 point drubbings.

Landers got what they asked for, but playing this one like a preseason game might actually be the right move long term. Have to wait and see.

Still, they were so bad you could be forgiven for thinking the Saders were playing an Aussie team.

It's stupid that McClutchie is playing for the Islander team and this ponderous journeyman Englishman is sucking up NZR $$ at the Highlanders.

I get your point but I thought Burns was OK (as a vanilla 10) when the Landers were going forward. He connected well and didn't put others under pressure. He overdid the kick over the top a bit though.

I think Gilbert at 10 probably needs smith at 9, Le head taking some of the decision making re direction, before we bought in burns I thought we might see Gilbert at 10 but I can’t see it now with burns, hunt and millar in the stands

Blackadder is looking very, very good. There seems more sting in his collisions this year. Has he put on some beef? Havili making a mockery of the negative fern narrative again. It seems he has put on a few kilos as well.
Jack Goodhue seems quite ponderous and out of place, doesn't he? Moody needs to put a few more miles on the clock although Ainsley is no mug.
For the Clan, TUJ looks the goods. He and Timu could become quite an efficient midfield if they stay healthy. The Clan will improve and start punching above their weight at some stage. Not sure when and I have been saying it since 2016 but "One day Roger Fitch, one day!"
