    Sean Maloney sounds broken

We got the Saffa commentary here where the grass grows green mate, and actually enjoyed them, didn't miss Maloney at all!!

Yeah it was rough having to listen to Justin Harrison & co

IMO that first penalty try and YC is complete bullshit. He didn't collapse that maul, he got rolled by 5 Springboks while trying to defend a maul solo. Yes he ended up on his back, that's generally what happens when you get trucked.

Rugby is not played in super slow mo.

The 2nd however was nailed on

Tom Hooper is a solid Super Rugby player at this stage. Shouldn't be playing test rugby.

He got isolated and then exposed twice on defence.

I was also surprised that a fresh Samu went off when Porecki got the YC rather than Hooper. Eddie made some strange selection decisions.

@mariner4life the problem is that him/the Wallaby pack being a bit shit at defending the maul actually stopped a try

SA perspective - pretty happy with that, we were a little better than what I was expecting. Two selections I was worried about, Esterhuizen and Van Staden, were a lot better than I was expecting.

We were far from clinical though and made errors at some key moments that kept the score closer than it could have been, but I'd put that down to rustiness.

Libbok but good, but maybe called for the ball a little too often in the first half, in the second he let the pack just go to work on the wallabies and they just didn't have any answers.

The only guys I thought that would be dissapointed with their games last night are Am and Reinach.

But the main story of this game was how bad the Aussies played. They looked second rate everywhere. Collectively shat the bed.

I get that people love Koriobete's energy, but he is going to cost his side big time. In this game he got away with two high tackles, diving on a player (with head contact) and a couple questionable wraps. He's a walking red card unless he changes his approach.

If you don't penalise that, every maul five metres out will be defended by one bloke who will immediately go to ground.

I have some sympathy for that view, how Australia got it that wrong to be left with one on 5 defies belief

But I am very consistent in my view that not being strong enough should not result in cards and penalties. I think the same thing about scrums.
He got rolled and south africa with a 4 man advantage couldn't stay on their feet.

It's just my view lads based purely on how I would feel as a player.

You can go backwards as a result of being weak and still stay on your feet.

Am, his first test match since his injury, so understandable. Cobus had a decent game IMO. The player that stood out for me was Jean Klein. The Irish is going to kick themselves for letting him go.

Who knows where they go under Eddie, maybe they get the Bledisloe back, maybe they make the RWC final, but Dave Rennie is cackling and rolling a blunt right now.

@G-Man I agree on Reinach. Thought that was one of his better bok games. Focused on quick service and delivered lots of space to his backline as a result. Course it’s easier when you get the armchair ride his pack gave him.

First time I’ve ever wanted him to snipe more than he did. But that balance should come with a few more games in the saddle and yesterday’s restraint should buy him more space in future.

The Aussies are a side that will look complete crap one week then be dogs whisker from winning the Bledisloe. I'm not writing them off.

But they'll still be a whisker from winning it. That's the point.

That's why they're being written off.
That's why TVs are turning off.
    That's why recruitment is fucked.
That's why the game here is dying.
