    Southee still there.

    Captains knock coming up.

This is a very disappointing BC scorecard though.

I don’t follow cricket as closely as I used to, but since when did Timmy take over the captain role from Kane? Is this permanent?

Thats a 100 in 4 consecutive tests for Williamson, first NZ'er to do so.

    4 & 132
    1 & 121*
    215
    104

thats 3 test 100's in as many innings

    29 Test 100's now too

Was it the last years series at home ? Can’t remember exactly.

Timmys captaincy is almost irrelevant cos KW has gone up another level with his batting since the burden has been lifted.

He went past a couple of handy players in Kevin Pietersen and Geoffrey Boycott on the list of all time run scorers ( just three runs shy of David Gower ) and drew level with Virat Kohli and that Bradman fella on test tons with 29. ( although being KW you think, shit, only 104 ? Couldn’t push for a double ? )

Early days but as @Virgil mentions in the post above that’s a ton in FOUR consecutive tests. Funny how some guys become captain by default just because they’re the best player in a team. Doesn’t always work.

Bangladesh slightly infront here. If Williamson wasn't dropped on 63, it would have been an uphill task coming back.

Turning point for me was Mitchell running past one and getting done by Taijul Islam through the air and off the pitch. Islam is very good imo.

    I'd say significnatly in front.

For us to win, we either need out last pair to put on a heap of runs, OR some runs to get close.
Then roll them for less than 200 ish
Then score 200 odd on a turning track

I think Bangles are heavy favourites

Edit: interestingly the odds on Tribe are evens - $1.90 each, and $18 for the draw!

@nzzp Yeah - this is a difficult pitch already.

While we've almost certainly got a better batting line-up than them, I fear their spinners are better than ours - and will likely get to bowl in even more helpful conditions.

We might well need to roll them for substantially less than 200.

I wouldn't like to chase even 150 given the amount of assistance our 'spinners' were getting on Day 1

    fun fact from Reddit (apparently)

Root Smith Kohli in Bangladesh: 13 innings (4 dismissals for each), 215 runs, 0 centuries, avg. 17.9

Williamson in Bangladesh: 4 innings, 354 runs, 2 centuries, avg. 88.5

Timmy playing a captain's knock - with good support from Jamo.

    Handy runs!

Nose in front. Still two wickets standing!

Comms saying the roller this morning has likely temporarily dulled the spin on offer - along with a newish ball.

49 partnership, very handy indeed, will get tougher to bat on as the day goes on

Southee edging his way up the 'most test runs without a century' list. Up to 4th now, but won't be able to get to 3rd in this innings but might this series. First (Warne) is out of reach, 1000 runs ahead but second (SL keeper Dickwella) might get a ton yet. Starc is in 6th about 30 runs behind Timmy.

Both Warne and Starc have been out for 99!

    Jamieson gone.

Southee might as well tee off now.

    Bloody Mominul!

He's played 58 tests and prior to this match had taken 7 wickets.

    Now he gets 3 for 4! 🙂
