At his peak I would have Boult over Starc, purely for consistency. Very similar records both average 27.49 have played roughly the same number of tests and taken roughly the same number of wickets, but from 2016-19 Boult definitely shaded Starc

Crikey would you look at that ?

Maybe Starc shades it with his batting if that becomes a factor ? Any tail ended averaging over 20 is very handy.

So here’s my team if it needed to be picked to play a test tomorrow.

    Warner
    Khawaja
    KW
    Labuschagne
    Smith
    Mitchell
    Blundell
    Starc
    Cummins
    Lyon
    Hazelwood

    Jamieson ( 12th man )

In most cases the 50/50 batting calls just have to go the Aussies way. Conway and Latham possibly unlucky but you can’t fault the guys in front of them. Head and Marsh lose out to KW and Mitchell respectively. Blundell gets the keeper role by virtue of a better batting record. Jamieson to me would be first cab off the rank if any bowlers get injured.

Latham - Warners had his good score anyway

Plus if any prick deserves to be deprived of his 'fond farewell' it's that grub.

Still only gets four BCs out of 11 in the team. I might be inclined to go Conway over Latham. Not sure.

@NTA made a good point about the main difference being in the bowling line ups. Ours are unfortunately just that little bit past it or still ( Jamieson ) a bit green.

Leaving Head out is a line call. Depends on the balance of the team.

Agreed but being a kiwi I chose Mitchell who has made every post a winner at test level. You already have a bunch of Australians in there, how many do you need ?

leaving Head out is completely retarded if this is a current form team. He's one of the first in to the middle order. And he's miles ahead of Marnus.

This year alone he got 163 in the Test final
3rd highest Aus run scorer in the Ashes
    Averaged 47 in India

Only the Waj is having a better year.

That's before you take the World Cup in to consideration

Ok Head gets in ahead of bus change.

He’s 6th best in the world at present, Mitchell 7th and Marnus 8th. It’s the right call.

Boxing Day test starting soon and I’ve swept the yard already so I’m hoping the rain comes down so I have an excuse to watch.

Gilly, M Waugh and Akram are class.

Michael Vaughan has obviously taken over the token pommy twit mantle from Mark Nicholas. He played test cricket at least.

That Indian chick is hot and knows what she’s talking about. Nice combo.

Pakistan will get hammered again. Steve Smith averages 80 here

Warner dropped. Regulation slip catch. Will get a hundred now.

Both bowlers and both batsmen left handed the commentators just told me.
