Hopefully we get Jordie back next week.

    Hopefully at first

    Cameron was poor.

Thought in general he was ok, got charged down a couple of times, but apart from that he did some good stuff.

Agree he did some good stuff. The issue with him though is there's too much poor stuff. In every game. And his running game doesn't exist

We will not win the final or even make the final with Cameron at first. Time to accept this and try other options. I would rate them Barrett 1, Love 2 and Godfrey 3

Pretty happy with that effort by the Crusaders a few players stepped up almost got home.We can build on that.

More excuses for coach Penney I see. Crusaders had the rub of the green for large majority of that game and still couldn't get it done in the end.

Pull you head in,the same could be said about the Canes but they scrapped home against a team missing 8 of their front line players who would be in the top 23.

As much as I'd love to retort back at this with something snipey about one eyed Cantab's, I do have to agree with the tone.

Crusaders should be much happier, despite the result, than the Canes.

Hurricanes should have won this easily.

A shit load of players to come back.

Why are you defending Penney? He was sacked by the Tahs and left with the worst record in their history. The Crusaders went for a safe in-house appointment, much like Foster after Hansen post-2019, instead of being ambitious, they went for someone who wouldn't 'rock the boat' and duly got what they deserved.

    Count me as pleasantly surprised.

Formations only slightly better but plenty of heart and effort defensively.

I am not defending Penny I never liked that choice,And still think it was a very bad call.
I am saying I saw certain players step up
Reece again,Grace,Bower,Havilli,Fihaki Bell were all much better.
And with a lot of big players to come back we only have to make the top 8 and anything is possible in spite of Penny.

Absolutely the Canes were the better team and should have won by more.
You have put in a nutshell what I meant in my post.I think the Crusaders can take more away than the Canes can from this game.

@Chris Yep, it's almost irrelevant, the structure of the competition means they only need to win about 4 games to make finals. Then they just need to reset from there.

Yep hopefully we can eliminate the Penny influence and the senior players lead the way.

Reece was best player on the park. Iose and Love showing AB potential to me. And Roigard Moorby and Bower had their moments.
But the standard of super rugby this year has really dropped off. Far too many mistakes.

Canes deserved the win. Numia seems to have come of age scrumming wise. Always had the flash Harry stuff but now seems to be doing the core stuff well. Starting Canes front row strong. Brad Shields needs to come back to bring a bit of starch to the loosies,
For the Crusaders a few older heads fronted, Grace, Havili, and Bower esp. in defence. Was Grace's job to nullify Aumua? Certainly seemed that way. Lots to build on.

@ARHS you’ve obviously only watched this game then. The first three rounds were bloody enjoyable.

Mate I a one eyed Canes man, but even I can feel for Crusaders, and I had feeling last night they are not far off coming right. Especially if they can get a few of their players back. You can see the likes of Havili are getting their rythim back , can still see a few weeks of pain for them, but wouldn't count on too many easy wins against them going forward.

Some of the crusaders players are sooo average. One of those is strange and I’m picking Hannah to go past him in no time.

I don’t get picking players like Heinz, franks, halfpenny in the squad. It’s not veterans rugby.

Doesn’t look like aumua will ever be a reliable throwing hooker.

Canes weren’t great but they got the win.

@Billy-Tell I thought Aumua was good for most of the match and then it fell apart a bit in the last 20, O’Reilly isn’t the best throwing hooker either, neither is Bell for the Crusaders.
