@Chris Speaking of hookers, where's Hendrix Taylor now? I would have thought he'd be ahead of Letiu and Oudenryn in the development pathway.

Has had a few injuries of late and seems to have dropped of the radar in 2025.

If the Saders drop the first couple of games is that the end for Penney and is there a replacement? Is it possible to send an SOS to Mounga or is it not possible?

I realise that, I just mean that other players have been brought in from Japan as injury cover.

Sounds like George Bell, gone for most likely whole season, and Finlay Brewis several weeks.

Do you know what is wrong with Bell?

His injury looked very innocuous. He got up after scoring and walked back to halfway. Had a chat to a trainer and walked off with a slight limp.

I heard he doesn't want to jeopardise his All Black selection chances by playing.

Hopefully all teams will do this as per Jack Mesley's directive.

That’s a pretty brutal injury list to start the season.

The ground must be like fucking concrete, I cant imagine the collisions and speed of the game for these guys at this time of year.

Seems like most teams have a pretty extensive injury list. Doesn't help fan engagement having all these players out in round 1.

@Canes4life think they had alot out in the early rounds last year too.

Bu yep, not an ideal start for a team that need a good start, confidence will play a big part in things.

The Crusaders can probably count themselves lucky that the Canes have also been hit hard by injuries. Will be a bit of a cripple fight on Friday I feel.

Im assuming Dallas Mcleod has failed his attempt to play today. Toby Bell has been pulled from the Crusaders Development side and might be a late addition to the bench for a debut

With the injury toll they look to be drawing from Chch club players as some of those names aren't familiar to me, even from NPC. No Drummond.

A lot of Canterbury B and Crusader Academy players in there.
