Hard disagree, Mike. Whānau comes first. All the best to Billy Proctor and his family for the days ahead.

@taniwharugby An apostrophe is in the wrong place in the last sentence of that press release. Standards are slipping.

Unless it's only his own best wishes - maybe the other All Blacks think like @MiketheSnow.

@sparky Problem is neither Papalii or Blackadder will be match fit of they rejoin the squad, and if they play will be well off the pace for test rugby . At this stage it would be far easier for Kirifi and Lakai to join the team after the all blacks XV game over in Montpellier this weekend

I suppose it's only a problem if there are further injuries. In all likelihood, the same starting trio will be used for the next two games so it just means Papali'i and Blackadder might both start against Italy.

    @Kiwidom

    1. I think if we see either Papalii or Blackadder against France it will be off the bench. Being involved in the Italy game is much more likely.

    2. I trust the All Blacks training to get experienced players like those two up to speed and match sharpness. The issue will be how much of the full training programme are they involved with?

@kidcalder I don't think that's the case at all. Pretty bizarre selecting a poor player to start, just so the guy that replaces him is better.

South Africa would never do that ... hang on ...

Upvote for a new apostrophe nazi. That's my job!

You reckon they're selecting poor players to start?

Ok, not the poor part. That's your usual hyperbole. But they definitely pick some better players on the bench. Marx and Mbonambi for example.

They bring the subs on quite a bit earlier though eh.

Not for Ethan, he's never been match fit in his life as he can't string two games together. Plus he'd probably be injured during the game again, so wouldn't need to go 80 minutes.

@Crazy-Horse yeah I'd pick Roigard as quicker, although that may have changed post injury.

I do wonder if they are managing Roigard carefully for that reason

Leave Roigard on the bench as we need impact and he can bring it.
Ratima may not have been great v England but has played well all year
Poss look at bringing CR on with 30min to go rather than 20?

I think Cam gets them moving quicker and is more aggressive, be a shame for him to have less minutes.

Or do we stop looking at this in terms of better players start? The second unit played very well to kill off the game. In fact I liked their pattern better than the first half team. Cam could come on at half time. DMac was very assured when he came on too, a real impact. Patty T too

I found BB kicking annoying, but, as Beaver pointed out on Breakdown, that was a deliberate plan to destabilise English rush.

I’d say that bore fruit in second half.

    Nic Berry (Australia)

My least favorite ref..... as long as he misses things consistently ..... but the Irish crying in his ears every two seconds will likely have an impact imo

Luckily Plummer has had some good time in ten, to get into the grove, so can be a good option for the next test or two...

    ...oh hang on

Why didn't he just make himself unavailable for tour like soon-to-be dad Hunter Paisami already has?

Why should NZ Rugby be paying to jet people back and forth between hemispheres because they want to have a slice of each cake rather than committing to one (prioritize family life or highly-paid All Black commitments).

Proctor should've given up his spot for someone else who would've killed for the opportunity to represent their country instead of attempting to have a bob each way.

@darylmitchell one would assume he had that very conversation with the the ABs management and it was mutually decided that they'd take him along knowing he could need to head back at short notice.

This is what you'd expect/hope from any decent employer.

No midfield cover for Proctor must mean Jordie came through ok and ALB has avoided any suspension
