May I make a few predictions?
The Trump is a racist BS will quieten down when and if he is able bring jobs back to poorer communities.
The Trump is a sexist issue will never go away because women (and some men) always need something to whinge about

That will definitely be a part of it, because depressed social conditions and unemployment lead to discord and crime.
The other part is going to be how the law enforcement moves forward in the USA in these poorer communities as well. One might help lift the other up.

I'm in education for international business management, and gender remains un underlying issue, with systemic biases that (e.g., "attraction bias" or "congruity bias" that favors men) that do reduce opportunities for women.
E.g., "male raters had a much stronger pro-male bias than did female raters, indicating that the lack of women leaders could be a self-perpetuating issue" (in other words, males have an 'attraction bias' to those similar to themselves.
From the study discussed in that article: "Our findings revealed that men were preferred for male-dominated jobs (i.e., gender-role congruity bias), whereas no strong preference for either gender was found for female-dominated or integrated jobs".
So, I do agree that NZ is way out ahead of many countries, which is good, but there are still bias that need discussing (e.g., in education where I am) and identifying. In Japan, it's out of control, and systemic (e.g. hiring practices, contract styles)
I call bullshit on all of those studies, mainly as my trust in the humanities and gender studies dept is zero. The bias in Humanities and gender studies is obvious.
hahaha, this is wonderful stuff! we've gone past ad hominem to ad whole-branch-of-academium!

@No-Quarter i know nothing whatsoever about black lives matter, so i can't really comment on that. i do believe that sexism still occurs, and i would be surprised if there wasn't a pay gap - i've never seen thorough analysis to prove that it exists, taking into account all variables - but then i haven't looked - and i have never seen any analysis that suggests that it doesn't exist.
Oh cool now you are expecting proof of negatives. Fantastic...
leaving aside that you are again claiming that i have said something i haven't, let me explain something to you.
the logic you are using is false. you've got this axiom 'you can't prove a negative' in your head, but it does not apply to what you're talking about.
proving there is no pay gap would present exactly the same challenge as proving that there is one. that's pretty basic stuff. it's not like proving that god doesn't exist, it is simply seeing if two numbers are significantly different. -

As Brendan McCullum knew only too well, Trump has to do some serious WINNING!

Yip, and there is nothing wrong with that. I also discount the academic world of homeopathy and the academic world of Destiny church. gender studies and humanities in general are totally compromised by left wing nut jobs, I don't give a damn if that triggers you.
Gender studes in particular doesnt even deserve to be funded by govts. -

Dennmark ready to increase military spending after call with Trump.
I assume the call was basically "you're spending 1.2% and it should be 2% and we're not going to make up the shortfall!", or whether there was some other kind of carrot on the table.
Does anyone know how many of the NATO countries spend less than the 2% required?

for someone who claims to hate the use of words like trigger and safe space, you seem to use them much more than anyone else. it's also kind of interesting how you seem to think anybody who says something that you don't agree with is yelling or angry or upset, while you're the one doing the ranting. -

As for the rest of your post...meh.so are we accepting that you are unwilling to allow anybody to write off an opinion (you like) based on who gave it, but are willing to write off an entire field regardless of any and all points made?
your comparison doesn't even make sense. homeopathy is a theory. an illogical and much-discredited rubbish theory. gender studies simply means the study of gender - it's a field of study. these are quite different things, and not comparable.
but disregarding the hypocrisy and the false comparison - do you think that gender doesn't exist? do you think that, for example, psychological / behavioural differences in men and women due to genetic and societal influences do not exist? do you think they can not be studied?
