If you really think about what Adams says about Trump, it is damning on both his supporters and him as an individual. Adams is saying that Trump is willing to drastically affect the lives of millions of people in order to gain a better negotiating position. I don't see why that is impressive.
Shit yeah. Using brinkmanship on every issue, to raise the bar to your advantage, is shit. Its one method used to erode public resistance to change, and then before you know it, the really slippery slope policies can start happening.
The flipside to these Executive Orders is giving himself a big chance of re-election.

The oil pipeline has got some coverage that I've seen, it's just buried in the mix of every other story that's triggering an avalanche of outrage/good on him stories, posts etc.
Exactly. I've seen some coverage of the pipeline stuff, but mostly its lost in SJWs trying to spawn mecha-vagina protest machines.

Ham fisted.
Oh, sorry, "Persuasion Filters".

Trump is an aggressive negotiator. This is power politics is an era of mad-partisanship. The left will not give up their ground easily - especially when aided and abetted by the vast majority of MSM. Trump will use this way to achieve his true objectives. Expect Trump to use the same tactics in relation to China, Iran etc. The longer the left view him as dangerous, unpredictable and unprepared idiot, the better it is for him. It keeps them off balance. -

Or is it a polemic point scoring battle that's beloved by political junkies and leftard/right-wing-nut-job social media noisey's?
There are ways and means of getting almost any policy position implemented - while generating less unintended uncertainty and getting a court order against the Executive Order. Scott Adams and others can admire his negotiation strategy all they like - I just think this isn't a business deal and there may be better ways (and quicker, in the long run) to implement what he wants in public administration.

Mrs CF has a conference in the US later in the year. Many of the delegates come from Muslim countries. That is one of thousands in the US in any year. Not to mention sporting and cultural events along with general business related travel. I assume they will have to sort this out?

This.
Avoids court orders and getting many backs up from those who wouldn't otherwise. Public administration and public policy consequences aren't as smooth as a two party business transaction - however much people believe it is, must be, or should be. His administration doesn't need to play games - they've got the ability to get on with their agenda effectively.

@hydro11
Takes too long when executive orders are quick and he gets exactly what he wants in it.
The Repubs' and not united on all of what he wants in regard to immigration - did you see McCain and Graham rebelling today? If this had of gone through Congress, it would have been telegraphed to ISIS, and also possibly heavily diluted as MSM bring pressure to bear on various moderate Repubs. Furthermore, the press would be able to protest and control the news cycle on this for a much longer period of time. Rip off the plaster quickly. -
