Canterbury coached by Delaney reminds me of the Crusaders coached by Blackadder. All the talent without the performance.
Glad Delaney is fucking off to the highlanders... we've been uninspiring this year against the better teams
giving up 55 points in a shield challenge is disgraceful. No ficking pride in the jersey.
Ngatai looked fat, but was awesome. Why doesn't tamanivulu get a chance for the abs?
We've missed Luke Whitelock heaps more than I expected.
He's had a chance before, he just didn't stand out enough for continued selection. He runs a bit hot and cold - he's been running pretty hot this year though.
We were talking about that tackle during the game. It was a shocking miss
But If that's the reason for him not making the abs then it's pretty harsh. Dagg has missed tackles like that consistently over his whole career.

I have one issue with the Poo possibly winning. Unless they also get promoted there is a stronger likelihood next year of Waikato (demoted) getting their grubby hands back on the Shield.
THIS Waikato team? With the crossover games every team has the chance of a RS challenge. Except Ta$man, of course!
Odds of a challenge increase within divisions.
That's enough for me to worry.
The two teams I hate holding the Shield are the red and black inbreds and the Mooloos

That's why Canterbury was never winning this game. If they had - Ta$man might actually have got a challenge next year!
FFS!!!!

Agreed, Cantab. But I guess the price he'll pay for his early departure and possibly having taken his eye off the ball, is a Shield-losing legacy, potentially combined also with dropping an NPC title.
Was nice being Super Rugby, NPC champs and Shield holders while it lasted. Hopefully now we can overcome potentially a tough finals run and win another title.
Not overly surprised we lost this game as that's a rock star provincial level backline that Taranaki has. Well played, Naki.

Yes, an ideal candidate. A Cantab guy returning home with plenty of head coach experience coupled with international head coach experience at age group level. Probably won't even have to front up any relocation costs which is also a tick in Mr. Philpott's favour.
-
@higgins Haha, not sure they'd want him though. When Robertson vacated his desk, he didn't want the job. He had put all his cards on the Crusaders gig, missed out, and indicated not to be interested in an assistant-coach role. I think Tabai Matson is a more likely candidate, if he wants to, now that he has returned to NZ for family reasons. Don't think there are any SR roles available, apart from that high performance coach role vacated at the Highlanders.
But by all means, hire Philpott!
-
@chris-b I don't think they already appointed someone, but do you really think that Matson - after having been Blackadder's assistant for years, now wants to be Robertson's assistant, while Robertson has been his understudy when he was coaching Canterbury? Also, he refused to become Robertson's assistant last year and, instead, decided to follow Blackadder to Bath! Or weren't you talking about Matson?

I work with a guy - been based overseas for years now lives in Wtn
Was in Chch Friday for work so decided to stay on for the game - first time hes seen them live in over 25 years
-
Only accommodation he could get was apparently some flea infested shit box way out of town
-
So way out that it took him an hour to get into town on the bus
-
Couldn't get a beer anywhere as everywhere was full so decided to head out to the ground to soak up the atmosphere
-
They only sell Amstel light at the ground
-
A ground he thought should be condemned and hadn't changed since he played on it as a nine year old
-
$60 can fare back to the shit hole because he'd noticed it was just up from a pub and needed a beer badly after Cantabs performance
-
Still couldn't get a beer as he wasn't a patched gang member
to quote Booboo hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Your mate's an idiot or a liar (or both).
- They sell Montieths original and Pointers Pale Ale at the ground. (I had 6 during the game). Plus Sav, Pinot and Cider
- There's heaps of Motels close to the ground that have vacancies (just texted a friend who owns several within walking distance of the ground)
- Why doesnt he use uber? $30 would get you pretty much everywhere in Chch

Your mate was probably right at home in Rolleston prison. It must have been an open day in the mental wing for him to be able to find his way in to a room, but I suppose wearing a helmet and drooling from the corner of his mouth would help. Surprise surprise, the mental wing at the prison doesn't serve piss. How he managed to find his way out and into the most expensive transport in the region is a mystery. I suppose the constant babbling about how much he and his mates despise all things Canterbury must have worn thin and the guards eventually let him out for a stumble in the fresh air, and he fell into a chariot made of gold which took him to the ground. After paying for said transportation - presumably in stamps - your semi-retarded mate then tried to get pissed on 2% grog. Clearly a desperate lightweight, he somehow actually managed to get pissed on 2% grog and so pissed he couldn't differentiate between the old Addington Showgrounds and a 22,000 all seated temporary stadium. He then whistled up his mate in the gold unicorn-driven chariot again, eventually getting dropped off at The Rolly Inn before slobbering his way back across the road to Ward 5, Wing 2 and presumably making himself 'available' to a horny guard as a favour for being let back in.

I thought that was implied by him being a Cantab?
