I think it’s a stupid “ look at me “ affectation like Steve Chadwick calling herself Steve.
Who is zhe?
Moronic labour mp who gave one of the most cringeworthy unintentionally hilarious maiden speeches ever . After achieving nothing while in parliament switched troughs and is now mayor of Rotorua and carrying on her brand of idiocy .

Apparently Paula Bennett had a few interviews, and said something along the lines of Ross acted 'inappropriately for a married man'. Whatever the fuck that means.
On Morning Report Paula said she responded to his claim that he was threatened with sexual harassment claims - instead saying it was inappropriate behavoiur. In fairness to her, she tried to walk back the 'for a married man' line
-
@taniwharugby So again, in the words of Crusher, 'put up or shut up'. Either state specifically what he did, with some corroboration, or say nothing. Vague smear attempts in an attempt to pull a look! Squirrel! are pathetic and shitty. The leak facts are all that is necessary here.
-
@mokey from what they were syaing on the radio, he was due to provide the evidence to the police at 1pm today and then have a presser.
From Stuff just now:
NATIONAL'S LEAK CRISIS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW- Botany MP Jami-Lee Ross has arrived at Wellington police station to give evidence for his claim that Simon Bridges asked him to commit electoral fraud.
- Ross claimed to have audio recordings to prove the allegations and will take them to police, before releasing them this afternoon.
- Simon Bridges has denied the allegations, calling them "baseless and false". He said that Ross was welcome to take them to police.
- Ross also said Bridges made up allegations he harassed four women, which Ross denied.
- Ross will resign his seat and leave the National Party by Friday forcing a by-election in his Botany seat, which he will contest.
- That by-election, along with the police reaction, could see this saga continue for months.
- Businessman Zhang Yikun could not be reached for comment, and was understood to be travelling in China.
- At their home in Auckland, his wife confirmed Simon Bridges had been there for dinner before however she said she had no knowledge of donations to the National Party.
- National deputy leader Paula Bennett has suggested Ross could be the one who has broken the law.

@mokey I don't know how much is scuttlebutt but she has had those benefit fraud accusations floating around her, so coming on strong about Ross and his 'behaviour' could bite her on the ass at some point. She can manage a bit of banter and the odd jibe, but isn't really a enforcer in the mould of Crusher or Joyce. Speaking of the latter I bet he is well pleased to be out of the circus!!
Was Paula's point that Ross may have broken the law by making those donation changes? so either he goes down or they both go down?
Wondering when the reporters are going to start asking Botany folks about the by-election. In the coverage to date there is little to suggest whether Ross is loved and appreciated, or if his seat has been safe for Nats irrespective of who was running.

Dont question a captains call.... 1 person who has no real experience outside of politics is completely qualified to make a sole decision on NZ's energy future. Consultation not required.

It is not uncommon. Our profession is currently undergoing changes being proposed by well meaning but totally out of touch people who will probably make things worse, not better. The classic move is to consult the experts who will be affected by the changes then ride roughshod anyway

Just catching a bit of the audio Ross has released. Knowing how badly things have broken down it's hard not to listen to it like Ross is leading the conversation a bit, esp at the end about current list MP's they'd like to see moved on. But there's some interesting stuff in there.
-
@paekakboyz Haven't heard anything that seems to be breaking the law in that conversation by Bridges. He's pretty vague and non-committal about Ross outlining the options for receiving the money. At best I'd say there's something of a vague implication that Simon's wondering whether he can somehow get the money into a slush fund.
Mainly they come across as a pair of c*nts, which won't play well with a few of their MPs - and the Indian community among others!
-
@chris-b agree entirely. I was thinking more the commentary on mp's etc. Unless there is more to come, and surely there is, there was nothing dodgy about the donation. Couple of douches tho, wonder how any Indians in botany will feel about Ross!!
-
unless there is part of the conversation not released if it is to be investigated and part of a criminal proceeding?
If not, not sure WTF he thought he had in what I heard.

It will be interesting to see if people voted mainly because he was a National candidate or for the man himself. I can't help but think everything that is coming out now, from the Ross/Quax takedown of Len Brown, to the secret taping, to the pressure he put on to get his wife elevated to Chairperson of the local board, won't resonate well with the locals in Botany

Also, if Bennett is supposed to be the deputy attack dog, she is fucking shit at it. I don't think she helped Bridges at all with her comments.
Of course, Mokey, that presupposes that she wants to help Bridges. She may be thinking this is her way to the driver's seat. Or maybe her love for Soimin is no greater than yours.

See? Stuff and the Herald could both just say that and save us all hours of our life reading their shit. It really is that simple.
