@Kirwan Says the guy who call Akira Ioane "King Akira" .
If you can't see the difference between the form number eight in the country and suggesting Hunt for the All Blacks, then you kinda make my point for me.

@Kirwan I was responding to your use of the word 'fluffing'. If anything is an example of excessive fluffing, it's calling Akira Ioane "King".

Does anyone seriously think (assuming BB and RM stay fit through TRC) that Shag will take a third specialist uncapped 10 in the RWC squad? I don't think so. If we are at the tourney we need someone with experience. I hear that Beaver is leading a RWC fan tour. Perhaps Shag should ask him to pack his boots. Just in case.

I'm not sure. What happens if Beauden picks up a 3-4 week injury in the first game,so he'll miss a QF but potentially be available for the semi? We want to carry him, but can we do it with just Richie?
-
Think you have hit the nail on the head. The Super knockouts this year are virtually trial games for prospective AB first-fives.
I am beginning to get worried about how many playing minutes this year that BB and Richie M will have under their belt before we get to the RWC knockouts. We risk them being fatigued at the time of the games that really matter.

@Rancid-Schnitzel If it's about experience, I'd pick Mitch Hunt who has about the same number of NPC and SR caps as Banks. The only difference in experience between the two is Banks' overseas' stints for very average clubs. Hunt has played in two SR Finals (2017 & 2018), Banks in one (2015).
Yeah I could live with Hunt. He has been in some pressure cooker situations.

I'm still bemused he wasn't called up instead of Cameron last year - or was he injured (old man memory)?

Who needs Charlie Ngatai when Akira Ioane is around.
Yup, and as a massive bonus Akira is actually the best player in NZ in his position.

Despite the fact every 6/8 in NZ got picked ahead of him last year ?

That's certainly a good talking point, I wonder if it has been discussed on here?

We're only half way through the week

Hold the phone. Anyone mentioned James Marshall? He's a very good player and did a good job at 10 for the Canes. Just coming back from injury though.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel I had totally forgotten about him (in this context)! I think everyone, including the media, did, due to him being away for years and then injured. If he can stay fit, he might actually be the best option we have!
Wait and see how he comes back from injury. Maybe Marshall being named on the bench instead of starting at 15, isn't so bad after all (I'm referring to my comment in the Sunwolves v Hurricanes thread).
-
James Marshall signed for London Irish as a Ten, but was mostly used as a fullback. He has played club Rugby in Japan as well. If fit and in form, he is potentially a RWC bolter.

@ACT-Crusader Iām sensing a distinct Crusaders feel to this haha.
