The first Avengers movie was on TV last night. Fuck there was some cheesy dialogue in that shit.
I still laughed out loud at the "Puny God" bit. Slapstick at its Hulkiest.
Only thing the first avengers film was good for was showing off your shiny brand new 3D tv (donāt think itās been used in 3D since)
The first Avengers movie is awesome! In the top bracket of Marvel movies for me
Remember, before it was made, no one was sure it was going to work, they took a bit of a risk. And it paid off, massively.
Was cool seeing them all together, Scar Jo looked a lot hotter back then too!

Finally got to see this, having avoided spoilers first. So was it just me, or did Peter Parker have more chemistry with Tony Stark than Pepper Potts did across all of the Marvel movies?

Haven't seen it. Happy to wait.

Fuuuuuuck!! What a movie. Took a day off yesterday so I could get along to this. Had been under full lockdown so zero spoilers or even watching the trailers. Had also missed out on watching Captain Marvel but on her performance in the movie I can see why some folks weren't that fussed about it, or the character.

Hulk hate stairs and I love you 3000 were the lines that stuck with me. Some real tear jerkers in there but funnily enough I was sad about Scarlet but that felt like the right call given Hawkeye had family.
Did anyone think that the Hulk couldn't snap his fingers as he was wishing for her to come back, and that wasn't possible given the way the stones work? He mentioned he was trying to Capt America at Tony's funeral. Which would help explain why Tony could snap immediately.
:::
Loved Thor's arc and holy shit when Capt yoinked the hammer.
If Keiran breaks down ahead of the WC I'd like to draft Thanos please.
Will be re-watching again as soon as I can fit it in. Lots of aha moments during the film but kind of lost as each wave of awesomeness arrived.
RIP homies. You had a great run.

Saw it today. Really enjoyed it but felt strangely unfulfilled. Not sure why. But the scene when all the characters came back through the time portal was farking epic.
The time travel thing isn't worth thinking about. You just have to go with it.
Regardless of what Bree Larson says or her lack of arse, Captain Marvel is a shit character. Ffs she flew through that massive ship like a hot knife through butter and is capable of interstellar flight. Completely unnecessary to the Marvel universe.
So is Thor going to be part of the Guardians team now?
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel I think Thor might be their new leader š

Massively underwhelming for me, overall.
Parts I love was the black widow and archer scene, I actually though the archer was going to kill himself.
Favourite part was when Captain America wield Thorās hammer. AWESOME.
Also like Ltd how They didnāt make Thor lose weight during the movie and kept being fat and awesome
Did hang round for credits. Was there anything after?
Biggest gripe was the previews for the movie had Spider man and Fury so you immediately knew they came back. That was shit

That trailer wasn't clear if it was before or after Infinity War. But when you announce Spiderman 2, Dr Strange 2 and Black Panther 2 it's a bit of a give away those charaters are coming back.
But did anyone really think they weren't going into this?

Already the fifth most successful film of all time, about to get Infinity War and Star Wars The Force Awakens when it flips over 2 billion in a few days (insanely quick). That leaves Titanic (2.1b) and Avatar (2.7) in it's sights.
First film to hit 3 billion?

@Kirwan easy $3b I reckon.
Can see why but didnāt love. Will be watching again with a mate in a week
Looks like it, since I posted that it's passed everything but Avatar; 2.188b. Incredible.
And they note it took Avatar 47 days to reach 2b, Endgame took 11 days. Another thing to keep an eye on, could be the first film to cross 1b for the US Domestic gross (Force Awakens got to 936m)

Just shows how much $$$ a film can make if everyone goes out to see it.
No doubt too this film will be heavily pirated.
Those are stunning numbers box office wise -
@Virgil It's the repeat viewings that does stuff like this. Was the same for Avatar, Titanic and Force Awakens.
Look at Hooroo, didn't love it but is seeing it twice. Once you get that sort of multiplier the money goes mental, putting aside all the advantages Marvel has built for itself telling basically a 22 movie story.

Itās the number of seats sold, I saw it at Westgate which I think you know well. That place is never sold out showings wise, i went to see it on opening night thinking with multiple viewing slots I could just roll up and get a ticket for myself and my daughter... nope all sold out bar single tickets in shit spots
So we watched it in different rows and I was in the very front row of seats watching with a crooked neck.. -

To be fair the only reason I am seeing it twice is me and a mate have a man date when ever a marvel movie comes out and I haven't told him I have seen it.
True-love wanted to see what it was all about and I couldn't say no.
