This whole Sadig Khan vs Trump spat has summed up beautifully the left wing bully modus operandi. They can dish it out but they cannot take it. I have lost track of the amount of nasty attacks that have occurred on right wing politicians form every country ove the lats few decades, finally one actually punches back.and they lose their shit completely.
If you want to champion civility, great, but start by setting an example.
Khan started this whole spat and is now playing the victim. Fuck.OffExactly. Khan calls him a racist and a dictator, but Trump is the bad guy for telling him to go fark himself.

Newsnight in a spin but not a mention of Khan's original volley

So Peterborough have a by-election after Labour MP Fiona Onasanya was removed for lying.
A more than decent chance for the Brexit party to get its first MP considering the European voting in the same area...also helped by more anti-semitism revelations from the new Labour candidate.

Just reading through some of Khan and Corbyn's comments on Trump and it is absolutely insane. Khan clearly has no understanding of the historical ties between the two countries, and zero understanding of British history. I guess maybe if you don't have roots that extend to WW2 then that relationship might not seem so important, I wonder how the average Brit feels about this? Have those ties run their course. I still think the war is a significant factor in holding close ties with other allied countries but maybe the next generation doesn't.
Corbyn is particularly atrocious, he won't attend a dinner...yet he wants to become PM. He won't talk with Trump but he'll happily talk and have catch ups with literal terrorists. With Brexit on the horizon and a massive trading partner happy to talk free trade then the prospect of a potential Labour government is extremely disconcerting.

I'm actually quite pleased with Corbyn's stance on Trump. It really is petty and illustrated very well just where this man's principles lie. Hopefully it pushes him further down the un-electable route.

Khan by Elle or as one YouTube commentor renamed him 'Sad Dick Khant'
-
@MajorRage Bizarre, I wonder if its in relation somehow to his earlier incredibly disparaging comments about him. Maybe a little nervous there. I do wonder if Trump is at all the forgiving type, I'd hope he is because Boris certainly isn't alone about making comments about him pre-election.
I wonder if Farage might get a chat.

Anyone not prepared to meet Trump is a fucking idiot.
That's why it's called International Diplomacy.
You don't have to agree with his views.
Be polite, be respectful, be there.
Then after hearing what he has to say make a private and/or public decision / statement.

@Rembrandt There is also a large blimp in the shape of a Trump baby. It is ridiculously childish.

This is just plain embarrassing.
The US president has come to pay homage on the 75th anniversary of D-Day..and this is how Londoners react.
Cleese is 100% correct sadly.
Protesting is an important part of UK democracy. Whichever side you lean towards, the other side has a right to a non-violent protest.
The people that do this are following their right, and we must respect that. We don't have to agree with it, and are welcome to post opposing views that they look immature, pathetic and embarrassing.
These guys are only making themselves look fucking stupid. And that starts with Khan and ends with Corbyn.

Londoners?
I'm not embarrassed. It's pretty dumb and childish, but ummm...don't suppose you've ever read Trumps tweets?
-
@Bones Ha yep embarrassing enough and had media & opposition focused on those rather than go full-blown delusion syndrome then we might not have him as sitting president.
There are some good protest signs I see. "Feed him to the corgi's" I like as too the Father Ted classic "Careful Now".
Hammer & Sickle flags flying along with Euro flags. I think they might be accidentally making a brexit argument
I do love protesters. I know a couple guys who plan to be doing interviews at it today so might be some excellent footage coming through. Last years one had some absolute pearlers.

Fake Tweets.
BTW Trump would actually have struggled to see any protests. He did drive past very briefly but wouldn't have been looking in that direction (if he didn't want to)
Basically everywhere he has moved during the visit has been vacated. He is jumping from Winfield House to Whitehall/Palace via Marine 1. then is in an emptied out zone right down the Mall and alongside the parade grounds.
He must think London is a very quiet place and the reports of tourist overload are fake as well. -

Hard to tell with the way Trump counts crowds.
No one is claiming a huge turnout but to say that the reporting of thousands is fake news is what is expected as par from the truth bender unless he has alternate facts.

On a similar note, but not photoshopped (I think) Matt Hancock launching his leadership bid
