@barbarian looking at case numbers NSW as a state might still be just below the 1500 cases by the 27th which seems to be roughly when shutdowns start occuring. Australia as a whole are potentially looking to be around 4000. Maybe invest in some internet streaming and limit guests. Hell of a tough situation. It would almost be better if you didn't have the choice to make.
Agree totally with the last sentence. It would be much better.

At the moment our plan is to lay out very carefully the risks of attending, and communicating that to our guests. We will ask anyone presenting any symptoms not to attend.
We obviously expect a fair few people not to attend, and that's fine. Just need to ensure everyone knows exactly what they are getting into at all times.
What about people who don't have any symptoms when they attend?
Perhaps you could have someone constantly spraying and wiping down all surfaces. (door handles, elevator buttons etc) + you all wear masks. Like a Coronavirus themed wedding.

Thankfully it’s Friday here, hasn’t always been the easiest keep my mind on work. Kinda getting over this constant cleaning and using hand sanitiser 100 times a day.
Those of you in Europe and Asia hope you can keep hanging in there.
I’m hopeful here in NZ we don’t ‘catch up’ to the rest of the world, hoping no drastic action is needed.
Keep your chins up, keep drinking tea or anything harder if required... oh and I’ve heard crumpets are great in times like this too..Cheers Virg. The worst part is not knowing when the worst part is going to be.
Boris mentioned 12 weeks a few times tonight.
He was pressed to elaborate and looked stumped. There's still a lot of "let's hope all you people are sensible and take advice and we should be OK..." absolutely convinced they are now just going for hopes of herd immunity whether we like it or not.
Positive note, the "pregnancy test but with blood" sounds promising. He has a way with words old Boris, I'm almost warming to him now.Thought experiment. If all the over 70s were incarcerated and unable to interact with general public, would there be a problem with dropping all restrictions?
There would be lots of infections, and some under 70s would go to hospital, but such as I understand the stats the hospital system would cope. And economic impact would be fairly subdued.
Or are we in completely different place?
Some thoughts on this in here:

Immediate family and get someone to film. Lots of booze and food for yourselves to take home and share.
It was hell for my brother having to can their dream honeymoon 1 day in. This tops that.

I just went to the supermarket and got the LAST pack of crumpets. I picked up a couple of packs of muffins and some hot cross buns so I should be OK, but the lack of crumpets was extremely distressing.

@barbarian given what i am hearing about hosipitality restrictions your decision may be made for you
In a way that's not the worst thing. I think there would be a bit of relief on our part if the Government stepped in and banned it. Takes the decision out of our hands.
Is it next Saturday? 8 days away? I reckon the decision will probably get taken out of your hands anyway.
My 2 cents is to assume that already and save yourself the agony, but I have no money or emotional investment in this like you do.
A lot of people won't come, and it won't be very festive.

Do not despair.
Check with Jegga what Jerome was eating when they had breakfast in Wellington - crumpets or muffins (it couldn't have been hot cross buns because they were out of their harvest season at the time).
Muffins may well be more fashionable after all.

Yeah 8 days. I suspect you are correct. We are chatting with a doctor friend of ours this afternoon, and taking her advice on what to do.

Why is Gordon Ramsey telling Shane Thomson to get out?
To find this joke funny, you need to be a big enough cricket nerd to know what Shane Thomson's Cricinfo profile pic looks like ......
You have my sympathies.
