@voodoo when your on the coast there is no 'local park' to drive to. And no, you're not supposed to drive to the shops and leave people waiting in the car. That is not an essential trip for those extra people in the car.
How do you know? Does the shopper have a licence or can they drive themself? Imagine a 70yr old couple where one always drives but has never done a shop in his/her life? Is it better the other one drives to shop?
We are getting very judgemental of people here with not much cause or evidence. I think the vast majority of people are trying to do the right thing.
Let's not get on the outrage train without good reason.
-
As I said one might be but all 6 or 7 couples, only one was old (they had their 2 dogs in the back). I'm not on an outrage train, but it is obvious that a lot of people aren't following instructions. Just like the dozen or so SUP and kayakers I've seen. Just very disappointing.
-
@Machpants I can't help but feel a considerable amount of people are trying to limit their exposure to others at the same time they consider the measures imposed by the government to be ridiculous.
-
So was there a live feed of @Hooroo jerking off that bull or whatever he was doing?
We all need the laugh

So my mum is in NZ, early 60's has had some health issues, she has a dry cough, headache and just feels awful. She tried to get a coronavirus test done today and was told they are not doing them on weekends? Anyone heard of this? She is in Whangarei so unsure if regional areas dont have the same testing setup.
That’s fair, the virus takes weekends off too.

I think this is highly unfortunate. I would have thought that NWs workers would qualify for the employee's benefit?
I went to NW last night and made a point of thanking my checkout operator for what she was doing being at work, they didn't sign up to work that job in these conditions

On another note, we were woken at 3am this morning by a commotion. According to the officer that came to our door afterwards, it would seem that they chased a lock down dodger from his car forcing him run on foot. He ended up in our yard where a number of officers and a dog got him. I particularly enjoyed the fact that they were not gentle in corralling him; he struggled so the dog latched on for some time before they dragged him off to the wagon. Nice to see the police playing hardball, it's the least these people deserve

Ms CF jr is a big dog squad TV show fan. This moron was perched on our roof and it all played out right at our window. Impressive that he climbed up though. Must have been a spider monkey

@Machpants my wife went yesterday and said there were a few couples there, mostly one sitting in the car, but a couple of instances where they selfishly went shopping together, which meant 2 people in the supermarket for 1 shop...
-
@taniwharugby unless there is a compelling reason (I'm struggling) then it has to be one person doing the shopping. I get that a non-driving person could be the shopper, but the driver stays in the car.

in our case, where a bunch of people who share accommodation but do not really know each other from adam, sharing a car when it's raining and each person is shopping on behalf of 2-3 others, it just makes sense. It's not really an option to walk to the supermarket in such cases, especially in the rain. And no, it's not possible to get stuff delivered - most residents here live from pension payment to pension payment, so buying for more than a week at a time is beyond their financial resources.

You are the exception mate. And I'd expect you would not look like a family unit when you enter the supermarket and spread out in different directions with separate trolleys

@SynicBast am finding that people are getting more and more judgemental about how people should shop and be in lockdown.
Facebook is an absolute shit show of opinions about people following the advice and going for neighbourhood walks.
Week four of this is going to really suck.

@canefan we stand in the queue as if we are from differenbt households, we split at the car and RV at the car, also I have my walking stick to make sure no fucker comes near me
Exactly. A little different from couples in there. I'm not sure it requires one person to steer the trolley while the other does the shop. But with only a dozen other shoppers inside after no queue outside I wasn't worried

I can't believe how happy you guys are to be living in 1980s eastern Europe
