Needed now more than ever.
Publicise the shit out of it.
Show the public that if they don't fucking wise up and listen to government directives then they will be admitted to a system which is understaffed, understocked, and unprepared.
That's providing factual information not fear mongering.
My mate who sent me the link is an ICU nurse.
He wrote 'Ironically I can guarantee you many of the doctors in the NHS voted Tory'
Yes, that is one angle. The other is balancing the power of fear. People must feel secure in the NHS, regardless of it's short comings. Having said that, I don't agree with gag orders either, so perhaps I contradict myself internally.
Nothing ironic in NHS doctors voting Tory. Anybody could see the opposite party's views on what they were going to do to the NHS was unachievable, would cause shocking disruption to society in general and would also see them significantly out of pocket themselves, in unnecessary additional taxation.

I suspect many would now choose out of pocket over out of breath

Though I doubt many would choose both

The NSW Education Minister has urged parents struggling to balance jobs and their children's lessons not to expect too much from themselves, saying younger students don't have to complete all the lessons every day.
Sarah Mitchell's comments come as education experts said trying to replicate a full school day at home could be counterproductive for younger students, and a few hours worth of maths and literacy was sufficient.
https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/focus-on-maths-and-literacy-and-don-t-beat-yourself-up-says-minister-20200401-p54g65.htmlTBF, that's better than a number of teachers could manage anyway.

I think China and the WHO are lying through their teeth.
This Aylward palooka reminds me that, for public figures in this progressive epoch, the more evident their lie is in public the more they are afforded high office and sycophantic worship. The WHO and Aylward should be outed and ridiculed from one end of the world to the other for their dishonest partisan position on China.
Mrs Bill Clinton is an outstanding example of the phenomenon - when she was running for President each lie she told was reported by the media as a "misstep", not as a lie. I had never seen or heard the word prior to 2007, they invented it for her.
We had a few devotees of the faith here in Australia - that effete little turd Rudd, the lying skank Gillard and the small but perfectly formed Member for Goldman Sachs who fell short of his lifetime ambition to buy or bribe or deceive his way into the first president of the republic of Australia.

It’s airborne.
A choir decided to go ahead with rehearsal. Now dozens of members have COVID-19 and two are dead
[...]
On March 6, Adam Burdick, the choir’s conductor, informed the 121 members in an email that amid the “stress and strain of concerns about the virus,” practice would proceed as scheduled at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church.
“I’m planning on being there this Tuesday March 10, and hoping many of you will be, too,” he wrote.
Sixty singers showed up. A greeter offered hand sanitizer at the door, and members refrained from the usual hugs and handshakes.
“It seemed like a normal rehearsal, except that choirs are huggy places,” Burdick recalled. “We were making music and trying to keep a certain distance between each other.”
After 2½ hours, the singers parted ways at 9 p.m.
Nearly three weeks later, 45 have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or ill with the symptoms, at least three have been hospitalized, and two are dead.
The outbreak has stunned county health officials, who have concluded that the virus was almost certainly transmitted through the air from one or more people without symptoms.
In interviews with the Los Angeles Times, eight people who were at the rehearsal said that nobody there was coughing or sneezing or appeared ill.

@Salacious-Crumb pretty sure we knew it can be suspended in air.
Hence the 1.5m (or is that 2m now) spacing.
If you're standing in a space where there's a whole heap of people breathing out viruses (virii?) into a closed environment where a whole heap of people are breathing it in it's not surprising it will be transmitted.

Lives in droplet form. Will drop out of air reasonably quickly. Hence stand back.
May, in some circumstances be aerosolised.

@Stargazer Thanks. Prompted me to do a search on Nga Taonga Sound and Vision for Spanish Flu
Came up with this https://www.ngataonga.org.nz/collections/catalogue/catalogue-item?record_id=207645

There are some interesting bits but its about half an hour and both the interviewee and presenter are very "proper"

Interview from 2008, going around on social media.
Interesting to hear this woman talk about the 1918 influenza pandemic.I recall m Grandmother, who was born in 1910, described to me a childhood memory of the 1918/19 influenza pandemic , in Dunedin. Of horse drawn hearses and funeral processions frequently going past her house. And in general passing when in the street, stop &take off hat until it has passed.

As I start to feel less anxious about Australia's situation my fears for the poor around the world increases.
Brazil is a big worry with their leader. Human rights issues in India as they spray people with bleach. The millions of day workers who have no support.
Guess we should all be happy we won the lottery and live where we do.
