Right - so this clip of the Oxford leader of BLM has gained a fair bit of traction here. There is little doubt that the official BLM push here in the UK has completely derailed. However, I can't help wonder if real good will come on this.
My view has always been, that this is a real opportunity for REAL Black Leadership to step up. This is not isolated and And I think it's a great opportunity for David Lammy. Now, I have been an outspoken critic of his, but to his credit, he has centred his viewpoints somewhat since Corbyn got put to pasture, and is really starting to talk some sense. If he plays his cards right, he could pick up a lot of vote and potentially find himself leader of the Labour party.
Interesting times ahead, and not one completely devoid of hope.
If I remember correctly she got 4 Xs on Britain's Got Talent.

Can't think why....

@MajorRage That clip can't be real! That is a real world "Onion piece"! It seems like a low production comedy. Haha, brilliant. Hey she is quite cute.

What is meant by "saying the quiet part out loud"?

I’m quite pro Hamilton in and ever anti Hamilton world but I’m not a fan of this.
how about move back to the UK and pay some tax Lewis? That might help equality a bit.

What is there to inspire a half black child to F1 and dissuade him from thinking it's just for rich white people? It's not like there's a six time world champion currently racing.
-
the only colour the entire F1 industry cares about is green

Exactly.
Is F1 racist?
Or do the myriad non-white wealthy choose to spend their vast fortunes elsewhere?
-
@MajorRage said in Black Lives Matter:
He's basically trying to dictate how the entire F1 industry should think.
He’s often seemed quite fond of telling people how good his ideas are. Fashion, exercise, diet, now racism. Love him as a driver but I really wish he’d keep his gob shut. A bit like Mansell, loved him as a driver but really wished he wasn’t such a complete fluffybunny.

@Tim I don't think Google are hiring the smartest graduates anymore.
They got overtaken by a lunatic fringe internally years ago. Same with Twitter.
Facebook is just out for Facebook, but are the least trustworthy.
Ironically, Microsoft is the good guy these days.
-
@Tim While I dislike Google’s motives, I don’t actually have a problem with this. At least it’s a positively focussed thing and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people spending their own money the way they want to, and using whatever criterion they want to decide how.
It’s certainly better than the government deciding where your money has to go, and it avoids negatively judging non-black owned businesses.
Of course it encourages the virtue signallers but so long as they’re spending their own money and not telling me how to spend mine I’m OK.
What am I missing?

-
@antipodean So you’re suggesting a way to allow people who want to give their money to businesses with a particular ownership profile is the same as defacing businesses with a particular ownership profile?
It seems there really is no room for nuance in 2020.

MLK's dream is clearly as dead as he is. I find decisions with obvious unintended consequences almost as stupid as deliberate ones. If implemented, it's certainly a great way for racists to influence their purchasing decisions. And of course there's no way of determining criteria for marking one's business as "black".
