More recent example;
Second to be allowed to do so.

Who do they get in contact with overseas in-between flights?
Yeah. I mentioned that, and I think that it has been left to personal responsibility - which, as we have seen, isn't as strong in some people as others.

there must be serious health conditions present that cannot be adequately addressed in a hotel setting, but that are not necessarily appropriate to manage in a hospital setting
Sounds like they had a very good reason for that exception.

So ignoring the 10s/100s of air crew and the 54 members of the film crew? Not surprised.
Of course they have a good reason to be home, but what protections have been made to prevent family from visting them and go home? See the flaws in this approach?
You asked for examples, and I provided three with minimal effort.

TBH, I'm really torn over the 'be kind' messaging. Because there are absolute assholes abusing medical workers, cops, shop staff etc who need a hard slap. However it sets uncomfortable parameters in terms of accountability, where genuine necessary questions are portrayed as being mean. It's not mean to ask hard (but respectful) questions to get facts and information.

@Kirwan I'm not ignoring anything; just don't have the time to respond immediately. I've got other things to do.
By the way, the Avatar film crew weren't out and about in Wellington at all. All these annecdotal stories in the media from attention seekers have all been debunked.
I had already referred to air crew, so didn't feel the need to respond to that.

Chippie doesn't see us going to level 4 currently since all the current cases are linked to the original case,
thats key, hopefully they are gettign closer to tracing original source

@nzzp Way back in olden times I was a journo (print and tv) and I also spent more years than I care to remember in govt communications. Some of the questions that get asked at the press conferences are either soft as a butterfly wing or ludicrously stupid. Some reporters think that asking a question in a pissy tone makes them sound hard-hitting. It doesn't.

By the way, the Avatar film crew was in managed isolation for two weeks, not self-isolation, and they weren't out and about in Wellington at all. All these annecdotal stories in the media from attention seekers have all been debunked.

So just to be clear, you asked for examples implying I was making stuff up, and I gave you three - two of which you concede are correct. One you think other people are lying, whatever.
Apology accepted.

from the outside reading in, it looked the NZ Media was definitely buying in to the world wide acclaim for little old New Zealand, and doing anything to jeopardise that was traitorous

Some if the media’s questions just leave you cringing. I understand some must be pre written down and they don’t know what info they will hear at the press conference, but to ask a question that was just answered by Jacinda or Bloomfield 5 mins earlier is stupid.
Can’t they adjust and ask something else? -

I bet they won't let this debacle tarnish St Cindy's image either. And if the Nats did this I would be just as angry

@Virgil we saw during the S1 of The Lockdown some of the absolutely moronic questions they asked, and re-asked.
I reckon a class of 8 year olds could ask better questions!
The bar is so low right now. Mrs CF tried watching The Project and 7 whatever its called, total waste of time in a time where serious questions should be asked

I would like to know what the plan is if we don't have a vaccine or a 20min test in 2/3/5 or ten years.

that's my question too. And no one, on either side of the Ta$man, is asking it.

is anyone in the world asking? Don't ask difficult questions if the answer will upset you...

I wasn't implying anything. I was just asking a question. No apology needed and, therefore, not offered.
