Kearns whinges again

  • Phil's become a caricature, I'm afraid. Time for the axe to fall.

  • I cringed a little when the Lions weren't acknowledged especially after their captain gave what I thought was quite a good speech.
Maybe he has a point. I imagine there would be a few NZ noses out of joint if things were the other way around.

  • I hate that prick so much.
If it had been a speech then maybe you can complain, but when it's in the form of an interview then all he's really doing is responding to what he's being asked.

  • I missed something, how were they not acknowledged ?
Must be uncomfortable at dinner time at a fox execs homes, your wife staring at you across the table wondering if you're the one Kearns is blackmailing with photos of you snorting coke off a call girls arse so he can keep his job. It's the only plausible explanation for this embarrassing arseclown becoming a grotesque parody of himself ( not that he he was ever worth a damn in the first place but now..,,,?) and still managing to be employed .

  • I've heard this thing about 2 World Cups and no thank you to the opposition a few times now, must be the G&GR forum trying new material now Richie is retired.

I was at the 2011 Final - there were no speeches by Richie or any of the players. Yes, there were interviews with Ted and McCaw with Ian Smith in the corner of the ground that were piped in over the loud speaker (the "I'm absolutely shagged" comment). But they were interviews, not prepared comments - and probably not broadcast on anything but the host feed. Pretty sure the same thing happened in 2015, it's all pomp, streamers, big wigs from the IRB and 'The World In Union' turned up to 11 on stage. The sideline men grab them for comments afterwards. I'm not sure exactly what Richie could have done beside saying "I'm sorry Prince Harry, and Imma let you finish but..."

As for Coles - similar thing, seems like he was answering the questions Wilson asked him. That wasn't an open mic for him to say anything.

Had the Canes lost though Kearns can sleep safely in the knowledge that we would have honoured them in the true Aussie style of voting one of the Canes players MoTM.

Exactly. If they invited him up on stage to say a few words then you'd definitely expect some acknowledgement of the oppo, but when it's just answering questions then give them a break. As usual Kearns is just looking for excuses to insult NZers. It's a shame because I generally find those Fox guys really good, certainly better than our Justin. Maaaaaaaarrrrdo can fark off though.

  • Just ask the cunt if he's reversed over his child lately.

  • Just ask the fluffybunny if he's reversed over his child lately.
I shouldn't laugh but it's Phil Kearns so there's no real reason not to.

  • It would have been ideal if Coles had mentioned the Lions as his opposite had done, but I'm sure they didn't really give a shit and there would have been handshakes and mutual congratulations over hot soup in the sheds after.  It's only the public and or desperate members of the media who get the shits about stuff like that

  • Just doing his job keeping rugby in the press here

They were hanging out together after the final whistle until they got called up on stage one by one.

Of all the ways to do it, his is the lowest. If you judged him on nothing other than his public utterances, he is the bitterest cunt when it comes to Trans-Tasman rugby that has ever strapped on a pair of boots. One doesn't expect him to be effusive in his praise of another country, but he doesn't need to be a negative arseclown every time because you have to ask what purpose does it serve? Getting people who make videos on GAGR interested in rugby or the league/ AFL/ Netball viewer?

At least guys like Marto and Fitzimmons add a little bit of humour

  • would there have been a function after, where they thank the ladies in the kitchen?

  • Disappointing lack of acknowledgement from the Hurricanes I agree. Would have liked to see TJP standing over the Lions 9 Faf de Klerk screaming "1 MORE YEAR" at the very least.

  • This is a lot worse than what the Chiefs allegedly did during their Mad Monday. Expect to see Coles sacked tomorrow

You clearly find different things funny then the rest of say, um, the planet. 😉

  • Kearns learned well from Fitzy that part of the Hooker's dark arts is seeking to wind your opponent up at every conceivable opportunity.
Personally, I'd rather be an unpopular winner than a popular loser.
