I love hearing the barmy army, sure they sing the same old tunes but they are such good fans and brilliant for test cricket. I hope they have a great time here…..

Ideally ending disappointed with a 2-1 series loss 😉

Keep it up Southee. Only 88 to go for a maiden test ton

It really seems like some changes are required to the batting line up. Obviously Young has to come in, probably for Conway but he preferably doesn't open (who does then? Williamson or Ravindra?).

Blundell's time should probably be up but he I don't he's getting dropped in this series. At least they could him down to seven, it has never made any sense to my why he gets to bat in front of Phillips.

Young swaps with Conway, it HAS to happen.

    Phillips and Blundell switch places.

    I wouldn’t change anything else.

Mitchell turning down runs, what’s the point ? Fuck all is still fuck all.

Well done Carse on a maiden Michelle.

Well done Will O’Rourke for scoring his first runs in NZ

O’Rourke isn’t the worst number 11 going around. Seems to perform his supporting task really well.

    Solid technique.

    Mitchell loves batting against England.

    Wonderful six down the ground

O'Rourke lasted longer than quite a few of the top order in the end.

So England would be chasing about 250 if we could catch. Probably wouldn't be enough although obviously starting our second innings without much if any deficit obviously changes things.

At least we have some obvious improvements that could have a major impact on our performance!

We held onto a catch! Actually, that's a handy little victory. Crawley's record against us is abysmal, so it would added insult to injury if he'd breezed his way to a 50 in a simple chase like this.

What's the bet Stead gives them the next day and a half off, instead of putting them straight back into the practice nets and the outfield where they deserve to be...

Every single time I’ve actually sat down and watched Zak Crawley bat he has been absolutely shit.

    Good to see this continue

Seems apt to share this again.

The key question is to definitely make sure I’m actually watching him bat. I’ll make sure I do all series.

2 of the worst blackcaps performances I've ever seen (in about 40 years) have happened in the last 5 tests. Galle 2, and then this.

Worst I've ever seen was v Windies 95 at the Basin. I didn't see the Inzmam triple century match, that would match it.

    @Rapido

Go back another 5 tests and you get the first test vs Bangladesh and the second test against Australia.

Overall this has been a rubbish year of test cricket, that somehow included our single best series result.

Which we long suffering BC supporters will dine out on for many many years….

England made light work of that hundred odd runs. Have to applaud that sort of stuff.
