Repo Men; Jude Law, Forrest Whittaker, Liev Schreiber

Was alot to like about this, while at the same time, equally blah...set a few years in the future where transplanted everything is the norm, and like a bank repo's your house if you default on your mortgage, Law & Whittaker repo your liver/heart etc if you default on the payments too...

Watched Inception last night. I went in thinking the premise about a guy who could manipulate dreams sounded a little stupid but came away thoroughly satisfied. I guess it is a bit like the Matrix in that it's based in a sort of a dreamscape, but Christopher Nolan did a good job of making this far fetched story seem almost real. He obviously put a lot of time into thinking about all the complexities involved and making the story make sense. Decaprio and Ellen Page were ok as the leads. Special effects were pretty cool, especially the rotating fight scene. Definitely worth seeing and I give it a 9 out of 10.

I see the movie adapation of John Marsden's Tomorrow When the War Began will be out soon. I loved those books, so hopefully it keeps pretty close to the story line.

Saw Date Night on the plane recently. That movie is dire, I'm glad I didn't pay (for the movie anyhow) to watch that shit. Saw a couple of other films too: Invictus - was OK, better than I thought it would, except unrealistic rugby scenes, This Is It - I enjoyed this surpisingly, an interesting insight into Michael Jackson's musical side. Zombieland - I thought this movie was hilarious, and quite well done. Not taking itself seriously at all.

I watched this last night, and thought it was quite amusing, was a bit flat in the middle.

I just saw Inception and thought it was awesome, even better for the fact I had no idea what it was about (before going to the cinema). Was very trippy and had a bloody good cast all the way down.

I also watched Date Night the other night and thought it was good, but I think it needed to go a bit longer. It seemed to end abruptly.

I watched the one where after alot of screaming and the couple not being seen after they leave the bedroom, the boyfriend is thrown directly at the camera and the girl friend walks in all bloody and sniffs the body.

Went to You tube and found the other version, she cuts her own throat.
Dunno, ive read about it since.
Its bloody confusing really, but from what i can gather the Theatrical version is the one i saw (throwing her BF at the camera at the end), the alternate ending is the throat slit.

And now i see theres a sequel on the way.

Grown Ups; one of the funnier Adam Sandler films for a few years!!

Same old gang back together, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Steve Buscemi and Chris Rock too, plus the others that have bitparts in most of his movies

C4 are playing the Beverly Hills Cop triliogy (do you call them a trilogy?) in recent weeks (BHC3 next Sunday - big step down in quality from 1 & 2) and these movies are still great!!

yeah Murphy had a heap of charisma!! Axel was a fantastic character... wonder how much he ad-libbed? must have been hard to resist given his stand-up background.

Scary thing is Eddie Murphy wasnt the original choice for the part, Sly Stallone was.

To be fair to the great man, it wasn't a comedy then just a straight up cop film.

And that cop film turned out to be none other than the pure awesomeness of Cobra. Send in the Cobra motherfucker, so he can take down the bad guy in a fire and metal hooks factory.

I watched it the only way it was meant to be watched - in a theatre packed with unsophisticated imbeciles raised on reality TV who actually believed what they were watching was authentic documentary. My buddy and I pissed ourselves laughing at the teenagers around us shouting "WTF!!" and "OMG!!!" and "This CANNOT be real!!" over and over and over.
