I'm going to write them a letter apologising on behalf of all of NZ. It's the least I can do.

not from me bro, I meant to punch that dude when I was 20 when him and his 2 mates told me to give them my shoes at 2am when I was drunk on my way home from town...best defence is a swift offence was my thinking.

@No-Quarter lets not forget he was a school kid at the time so we need someone to apologise on the behalf of all school children.
he was drunk at the time, so need someone to apologise on behalf of all the drinkers
he's an island boy so will need someone from that perspective to say sorry also.
Cunliffe can apologise on behalf of men.
should someone from the law society apologise too? I mean it's their fault he got off...where does it end?

I think Wellingtonians need to offer the rest of NZ an apology too,!

They can throw in an apology for forcing Winger and Gracie onto us while they're at it.
-
The reason why anyone is having to apologise is because the WRU handled this whole episode so badly. As soon as Losi plead guilty to assault he should have been stood down until the WRU completed a full investigation. The backlash would have been significantly less if Losi Filipo had already been sanctioned, and the WRU was seen to be investigating the incident and taking it seriously. But the WRU dithered, and this issue subsequentkt blew up in people's faces.

Holy shit, this apology orgy is getting almost Canadian in its intensity.
Blanket apologies are just stupid. There is no need to envelope all the guys who aren't fucktards up into this sanctimonious horseshit. Go away, JK.
The WRU could have handled this a lot better, but this is not the NZRU's issue. Nor is Steve Tew to blame (and quite frankly, expecting him to call the victims is grandstanding rubbish.)
-
The story that never ends...I almost feel sorry for the guy, I bet after he thought he had dodged a bullet on the conviction he thought he could get on with his life and try to put it behind him, now, it has exploded and almost everyone knows who he is, what he looks like and is right now probably one of the most talked about (probably most hated in some cases) person in NZ right now.

I would have been all for the discharge WOC had the victim not still been suffering ongoing effects of the head injury. Does seem a little unfair that the offender gets on with his life with no sanction (until the publicity kicked in) and the victim still has headaches, memory loss and fatigue. As for the girl female victim who was pushed having massive panic attacks in public - yeah, nah,
The Police and Soliticor General really had their hands forced in this by the media and public. He was sentenced a month and a half ago, Police normally have to appeal within 28 days, and didn't do so. Now the Solicitor General has given approval for an appeal. Seems a bit strange really .I watched Paul Henry climbing into Steve Tew like a principal scolding a school child and thought it was a bit pathetic. I'm normally a Paul Henry fan, but he was somewhat shooting the messenger there.

@aucklandwarlord see the victims FB post above. 15 concussions since 2011 and told to stop playing rugby. Despite what he claimed in MSM, he was never going to play professional footy and it would be very easy to argue the issues he has had are the result of a pre-existing condition.
In fact, none of the victims have any ongoing issues as a direct result of the assault.
-
I also have a big problem with acting based on "public backlash". It's impossible to quantify. People that don't have a problem with the judges decision are not going to say anything. The morally superior SJWs will scream as loud as they can as if they represent the population at large.
If you believed the SJW hype around the last election and Key then Labour would have won in a landslide. As it was the opposite happened.
-
@No-Quarter if he was playing for Para Plim it's very doubtful that he was looking at playing for Wellington . Pretty hard to make it out of that club and norths are just down the road.
What kind of a jackass carried on playing after 15 concussions ?

Let's cut to the core of the matter here. Have any more shots of the blonde shown up yet?
I've got four mutual friends with her on facebook, not bad for an ugly 39 year old arsehole like myself...want me to "add" her and do some stalking ?
