Final - Crusaders v Chiefs

For the Crusaders Jordan and Reece ensured the territory contest was won. Reihana looks like he has the skills and mindset to play at a higher level. Shalfoon has had a very good finals campaign - niggly, hard in the tight and effective. Newell with a massive shift again. Taylor is superb when in form.
Chiefs? Well Stevenson looked less interested than normal, which is a feat. Tupaea was immense. McKenzie was exceptionally average - when he wasn't being invisible. Backline ruined the hard work of the Chiefs forward pack who gave them enough opportunities.

I think we've seen the end of calls for Stevenson to be an All Black based on that performance.
And Beaudy is now clear first choice 10.
I would still have DMac as first five. No his fault their front row wasn’t up to it.

Without Reihana, crusaders probably out in the semis. What a find.
Jordan definitely the Crusaders difference maker in these big games. Reihana has been superb, seems like a steady hand, unlike DMac.

Jordan MOTM? Great impact but overall I'd give it to their front row + Bower...
The combination of Jordan and Reihana I thought worked really well tonight

Saw two carries around 60 mins in from Finau. Not much otherwise.
Hit a few rucks but absolutely nothing that caught the eye. TBF hos loose forward partners weren't much more prominent

@Darth-Sader more you saying the saders monstered them, IMO if you monster them, that's why you win, not because.they choked.
I’m not sure what we’re debating here… the Chiefs were defensively passive and lacked any kind of sustained dominance on attack. The Crusaders used their scrum, which is their greatest weapon, and manned up physically all night long. Chiefs looked completely lost at the end, in particular. Anyway, I’m not here to bash. You use your strengths and make your own luck. A great season for 80% for Chiefs.

That game wasn't lost in the front row - they won some scrum penalties, carried hard and lineout functioned well. His general play was dreadful: Aimless kicking, poor handling and I don't recall him making a single break.

Jordan looks to have bulked up his upper body substantially, carries a lot more into contact.

Well I called it at the start of the thread, all my teams lost this week. Congrats Crusaders. Back to the future. Penney finally wins at Super Level.
That was easily Reihana's best game of pro rugby, his best game since his schoolboy days. Jordan looks like a fullback these days. Taylor is in cracking form. Skafoon was really good too.
I can't be too nice to the Crusaders though so for the spice I'll say Reece is a dickhead and Blackadder was his usual busy but largely ineffective self.
Terrible game by the Chiefs. The bot called it correctly, QT was the only Chief with a good game.
There's been some hysterical commenting on this thread though, you'd think no team or player had ever had a bad game before tonight.

Reihana, Jordan and saders front row were immense.
Every scrum in the 2nd half was a penalty opportunity. Chiefs had no answers.

Colin Mainsbridge looking like a genius keeping Penney around now. Fair play to them, they deserve to enjoy it and I’m sure a lot of people eating a lot of words. Proud burnside men getting it done on club day. Written in the stars some would say

See, LJ still thinks it was a one point loss. Should never have come back on
