I would give up (nearly) all my coke at a hollywood party to a director who gave a blood-oath to do a good StarWars movie with positive TitWatch.

You're my nomination for the next Academy Awards President.

    That's how democracy should work.

    Rogue One
Having finished Andor S02 - decided to watch this. Had to split it over three nights due to - simple drunkeness/tiredness N1 and then Murica's birthday drunkeness N2.
I know it gets love. And I enjoyed it. But - by fuck, there's a whole heap of shit in there that don't make much sense.
I appreciate the "feels" of it - fairly well done; but for all the shit the other NerdWars movies get - this one was just as bad. Less fodder for the loco "they're trying to turn my children gay!" crowd - - but for the more sensible "that's just ridiculous" - plenty.
Will copy/paste into the crazy dedicated Star Wars thread tomorrow if/when I can be bothered.
    BTW - Titwatch of zero.

Proper tits, as opposed to the 3 titted woman in Total Recall

In honour of Michael Madsen RIP…..

    I decided to watch Species…..

It’s a pretty B grade flick but does have its good points. The best two being on the stars chest.

Natasha Henstridge could not possibly be hotter and her tendency to get nude is too awesome for words.

Madsen has some cool lines and swagger as always.

‘Tell him he’s about to copulate with a creature from outer space’

Ben Kingsley was a cock, Alfred Molina was annoying.

What the fuck was up with Forrest Whittakers character the empath ? Comes into a train carriage with a dead woman, blood everywhere and an alien cocoon….

    ‘Something bad happened here….’

    Yeah no fucken shit.

Did I mention how good Natasha Henstridge looked ?

2.5 hot aliens out of 5 search and destroy missions

Let's face it, the scenes with Madsen et al only give you time to reload before the ridiculously gorgeous Natasha reappears. Without her this film is utter garbage, with her it's a farking classic.

Jurassic World Something: The latest in this series, pretty average but not unwatchable, star Scarlett Johanssen.

    Jurassic World Rebirth

Once you suspend any critical faculties (yeah I know ... dinosaurs ... ) or any pretense that this had anything to do with Jurassic Park, but was actually Indiana Jones meets Tomb Raider meets Jumanji it becomes quite enjoyable.

Interesting. It's getting rave reviews in the press here and was going to give it a try. Will report back.

Rave? Nah. But an enjoyable romp if you don't expect much. And can deal with the moralising against big pharmacy.

My daughter made me watch Kong Island. Think that level of entertainment.

    Heads of State

I enjoyed this ridiculous romp of the American President and English Prime Minster much more than I thought I would

3.5 action heroes out of five serves of fish and chips.

Yeah, after not being able to get into Deep Cover I thought I'd see if I could get past 20 minutes of this one - it was good fun.

    F1

I went in to this with a healthy level of scepticism. An old F1 driver? Fucking righto.

Nah fuck that. As an absolute sucker for a 2nd chance sports movie this flick owns.

    Brad Pitt is a dude.
    The racing scenes are gorgeous.
    The story is fun!!

It's Days of Thunder but like with computers.

I grinned my way through the whole thing.

Saw it on the imax which made it even better.

    Trouble Bound

I thought it would be a nice tribute to try and watch a few Michael Madsen movies.

He is as usual cool as fuck in this, typical swagger and witty lines. Some great chemistry with the ‘you forget how cute she was in the 90s’ Patricia Arquette. Billy Bob Thornton was good fun as one of the dimwitted henchmen too.

But that’s absolutely it, the rest of the movie is a low brow, low budget train wreck. As is often the case he was about the only good thing in so many of his movies

I can only think of two good movies he's been in:

    1. Heat
    2. Reservoir Dogs

You don't like Donnie Brasco and the rest of his Tarantino films?

His career is essentially a few high profile movies in the early 1990s, a bunch of QT, and lots of DTV.

IIRC he was also in Sin City.

He also wasn’t in Heat but could have easily played Michael Cherrito instead of Tom Sizemore.

Brilliant in all his Tarantino movies and made any number of shithouse movies watchable at the very least.

I thought he was in True Romance with Sizemore, with them both playing cops, but turns out that was Chris Penn.

Turns out I forgot he was in the following movies I also liked:

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood
    Donnie Brasco
    Mulholland Falls
    The Hateful Eight

That being said, he doesn't come to mind when I think of those movies.

Speaking of hate, Mullholland Drive is in my top 10 most hated list (but I like lots of other Lynch).

Though Drive IS different to Falls 😀

Oh fuck, reading comprehension failure. Falls was the gangster movie right? I like that better than Drive. 🙂

Considering he had money troubles ( apparently ) maybe lots of those crappy movies he made didn't pay well.

I wonder how his career would have gone if he'd starred in Pulp Fiction as he was supposed to do ? Scheduling conflicts with Wyatt Earp

A prequel with him and John Travolta as the Vega brothers was supposedly in the works but never happened.

He was also bloody good in The Getaway
