@antipodean That is a screaming pile of shit. Scroll down to read how Billboard came up with this list ... and then there is no explanation

It can only be hallucinogens and a piss take. I would maybe listen to 8. Even when there are OK artists they have generally chosen their pappiest option.

Any list that has Sugar Sugar by The Archies - a song the CIA should use as a replacement for water boarding just has to be a total work of fiction.

I still wake in the night remembering that song playing on the radio as my under 9's League team drove in the back of the coaches ute from practice. All the other kids were singing along.

I quit the team. Hard man's sport - whatever!

Agree with Rancid re Nirvana , if Cobain hadn't killed himself I doubt they would still be as popular now as they are.

No correspondence will be entered into this one but a fair part of the Foo fighters back catalogue sounds pretty similar and tedious to my ears . I think a decent part of their success is due to Grohls nice guy/everyman persona .

Eurythmics were popular when i was a kid I don't know if anyone remembers the video to sisters are doing it for themselves but it deserves as much grief as that pile of crap bowie and jagger did. The song sucked too. Aretha must have been on something very strong in the 80s.

REM , shiny happy people. Really just what the fuck? Michael Stipe says fans give him shit about it to this day and he deserves every bit of it.

If you want definitive proof the Doors were shit, listen to a live album . Morrisons voice is very very average but on his studio albums they over dub them three or four times to make them sound better, same as people like Ozzy Osbourne.

Oh yeah and since its xmas that Felice Navidad song would send me into a homicidal rage if I worked in a mall.

If you want to torture yourself YouTube Feliciano doing come on baby light my fire

Jose Felliciano is quite possibly satan in human form..

Hooroo, you WERE into the grunge scene? Past tense?

My playlists on spotify are all built around the grunge scene - that and hard rock/metal. Still my favourite genre.

It was more of a thing back then. Now I don't have a genre I am 'into' I like a stack of music with more guilty pleasures than I wish to name!

yeah I think that sums up my music tastes now, I like what I like, some of it is modern pop (crap) while I still love a lot of older stuff without getting into Genres...I have given my kids a wider range than they would otherwise have forcing them to listen to what I like as well.

Was never a big fan of Pearl Jam, no songs in particular, just them, same with REM, sad fluffybunnies!

the foo fighters are awful. all sounds the same. that and late RHCP. just terrible soft rock that is so incredibly generic that it becomes the very worst example of its genre.

I tend to agree arounf RHCP. I kind of feel sorry for them when I hear there is going to be a new album as I just know it is going to be rubbish.

Older stuff is some of my favourite music.

@Hooroo for me at least, the foos are to nirvana what recent RHCP is to old RHCP. it's taking something raw and great and pushing it as far towards comfortable easy listening middle-aged conservative music as possible.

Yeah, agree about the chili peppers. They used to be a straight up purchase anything new, but after Stadium Arcadium that ended.

Nothing worse than when a band claims they have enough material for a double album ... and you buy it and it's quite obviously that they didn't really.

@mariner4life if you're recruiting foo fighters fans for a fight, then all you're going to fight is foo.
they're more likely to make us a nice cup of tea, then apologise and get out, the pack of little bitches.

@reprobate having been to a number of FF concerts, sadly that description is not far from the truth.

@Hooroo Yeah, it's crazy. Chad Smith - unbelievable drummer, Flea, incredible bass player - one of the best ever. Yet, without Frusciante, they don't seem to be able to groove. Odd.
