Getting my body back
-
Yeah that may well be the problem - just bored! Might get the demon ass kicker to come up with some new moves for me to butcher, otherwise I'll be fitting those damn jeans, lol.<br />
<br />
On a side note, does anyone do boxing training? My gym offers it, but I've never tried it. What is it best for? -

Good timing - have just got back into boxing at my gym. Used to do a Saturday morning session back in the day with my mate. Running is still off the menu for me at the moment so I was looking at other cardio options. I went to a boxing class last wed and had a blast. Went again this week to and will be making it a regular addition to my workouts. Once a week at this stage but I might head along to the Sat class again too.<br />
<br />
It is heaps of fun! great for cardio, muscle endurance and stress! not to mention you'll be able to deal to any bottom pinchers with a straight cross - a better comeback than a Zumba move lol! <br />
<br />
The class I attend pairs you up with another person - you alternate through bag work and focus mitts. Build up combos, focus on technique and basically sweat buckets. There are heaps of girls in the class so no worries about it being a macho scene either. Reckon there are a few chicks in the class that'd put me on my arse quick smart. Pretty sure at least one is fighting at some decent sort of level. I pity the fool that gives her shit at a club on Courtney place in the weekend - smacko! -
Just got home from my first boxing class. My knuckles are raw and I don't know if I'll be able to lift my arms tomorrow, but I absolutely bloody loved it. Learned jabs and crosses and hooks and kicks. Got paired with the instructor for a bit - even got some praise: "I thought you'd hit like a girl, but you're all right."<br />
<br />
Definitely the group fitness class for me. -
Doh, boxing wraps are key to avoiding the raw knuckles. They also support your wrists just in case you hit at a funny angle. <br />
<br />
You'll be feeling it in your back tomorrow as much as your arms!! It's great fun though -
hell yeah! you reach for something and aggh!! ha ha good news is that after a couple of sessions you'll be sweet as. The real enjoyment comes once you have a better idea of technique - including twisting your body and getting light on your toes. Then you'll be hitting the bag with some extra venom! kapow!

Oooooh. Second boxing class tonight and I suspect I'm gonna be armless tomorrow. Some brutal stuff, including a delightful round robin (Eight people with mitts lined up. 20 lightning fast crosses then sprinting to the wall and back then 20 more at the next person and so on. Instructor made us do this circuit four times, then gloves swapped with mitts and it started all over again. Almost better with the gloves cos there are some chicks in the class with very powerful punches on them. And despite me bending down there were also some hobbits who kept missing the edge of the mitt and whacking my palm near my wrist. Ouch.) Other particularly brutal exercises were feet on bench, hands on floor push ups and sitting in a chair and boxing upwards at mitts being held over your head. Sparring was fun though.

Dunno about body fat, havent done that. Body composition?? er... translation please! I feel great, probably the most toned I've ever been in my life, actually put on a bikini the other day and for the first time didnt cringe. Top and bottom has evened out quite a bit, thank god. And I seriously enjoy my boxing classes so that makes a really hard out cardio quite easy to do.
That's awesome, must feel great. Has the clothes test shown more gains that just the scales?
<br />
<br />
Thanks!<br />
<br />
Hell yeah, I'm going on another shopping spree next week, jeans and pants with a baggy bum and legs just look baaaaad. I've even tried on a pencil skirt that was donated. But need new tops too cos have lost a lot off my arms, back and shoulders - actually think I could wear halter neck or sleeveless tops now, I'm really liking where my arms are at. I've got muscles lol. -
Awesome!! and think of the shape you'll be in by summer - you might ditch the bikini and head straight to a nudist beach lol.<br />
<br />
Fantastic to reach your goal, a real buzz!! -
Haha Bart, yep just need to take the old girl out for a spin each day to keep the motor running...<br />
