What's the deal with C-Note (umm, the black Sheriff) trying to blackmail Juice with his supposed Black heritage? The logic leap doesn't work for me. At no point have SAMCRO come across as racist. Juice (Ortiz) is also Hispanic (as surely Happy is as well), and this hasn't been an issue. And in previous seasons SAMCRO has dealt with the Grim Bastards (who were a Black MC). Does anyone really buy the fact that homeboy Jax in his white sneaks and baggy jeans hates Blacks??? It's ridiculous and is pissing me off in what otherwise is a really good season. Grrr.
One percenter gangs are notoriously racist and quite often have sympathies towards/criminal ties with white supremacists (though they may deal with black gangs too). The show has avoided that aspect of gangs like the Sons until now.

Yeah, it is the stupidest plot point this season - and I made my rating just after watching that ep. At no stage have they ever come across as racist, and as you note Happy and Juice (used to be) hispanic. They were actually really buddy buddy with the Grim Bastards if I remember correctly. Ok, thanks Don you've ruined this series for me now!

Tim: that may be true in real life but SAMCRO have always been against the white supremacists and have often indicated they have no problem with colour.

Yeah sorry but I'm glad it's not just me that had a problem with that particular arc.

I have no doubt that the Sons would deal with whoever and whatever scum necessary if it was business related. But taking a racist stance on membership seems to me to be at serious odds to some of the characters personalities.

I actually thought that Juice was going to be related to the drug cartels or a top cop or something, anything but his old man is black.

What are you doing Kurt Sutter?

    Without any spoiling.....

If you are interested in the reasons behind the storyline have a little google. From cast interviews it appears Sutter is trying to introduce and explore the racism question as part of the season, hence the black cop as well.
I kind of agree that it doesn't seem to fit but there is meant to be a no blacks rule in the club

That was exactly what me and the missus were thinking. Seemed a weird route to go down in season 4 after no lead in what so ever.

It's been bothering me too, be interesting to see where it ends up going. Sutter usually has a point to his side tracks, a very talented writer, if batshit crazy.

started watching Breaking Bad this week, only on Ep 2, and has picked up where it left off, love it!

Also been watching The Borgias, seems pretty good so far (ep 2)

Plenty of watching for me coming up, with the new SOA (I like to wait until I can watch them all at my leisure) Downton Abbey and Dexter.

I like the way in The Borgias that Jeremy Irons seems to have styled his character on the Emperor from Star Wars. Very cool.

I'm hoping that the storyline gets a bit meatier though. At the moment it is going through the motions of setting up a victim for a ruthless ending then moving on to the next one.

Thanks for the heads-up, just read up about it and it sounds like a go. Having Mandy Patinkin in it is a bonus too.

yeah Irons is doing a great job...but yeah while things are moving nicely, it seems they are killing people to make the story at the moment.

Homeland, Mandy Patinkin and Damien Lewis, always good to start on the right foot, will give it a look!

I quite like coming late to a series and then watching them all in a row - I did it with West Wing and watched an episode a day for nearly half a year.
