Good to see Susan Devoy keeping herself busy/employed while pissing away tax payer money on completely pointless expensive advertising campaigns...

Edit - didn't want to derail this thread but figured this is as good a place as any to put this.

@No-Quarter fucked if i am clicking on that, but just from the preview panel, what if the taxi driver is an immigrant? What do you do then?
-
@No-Quarter I wanted to punch my TV listening to her on Breakfast this morning.
The way she comes across is that only white folk can be racist

It depends if he/she is white or not. Apparently only white people have the ability to be racist, brown people can't because reasons.
Also, don't forget that even if you think you're not racist, you actually are because of "covert racism" and "unconscious bias".

My better half who is Melanesian spent a few years in a small NZ town and she found that by far the most racist people there - I.E. the ones that would attack her and call her the N word - were Maori. I'm sure that's all white people's fault though...

My wife and I have watched the Red Pill. Really interesting. The way it was treated in Australia is disgusting.

I was waiting for it to become available on Google Movies - is there another way to watch it in NZ?

I've watched a few interviews with Cassie Jay (maker of the Red Pill) and although I haven't seen the film, she is very much on the money with one thing she says, i.e that people campaigning for mens rights are not campaigning against or denigrating or dismissing womens rights or LGTFBSHDBVJSDKFHDBD rights or black rights. They are simply asking for their own particular grievances to be heard. Surely that should be possible, without somehow devaluing other movements?
I look at it this way. My wife has cancer. A good mate of mine has a serious back problem that he often complains about. Should I scream and yell at him to shut the fuck up because his ailment isn't nearly as bad as my wife's? No, of course not. Just because there are others worse off than him is no reason for him not to be allowed to complain about a serious problem he has.
We live in seriously fucked up times.
She's dealt with a bunch of complete crap being thrown her way from some of the Aussie media really well.
Like these two fucking idiots, trying to pick apart her movie before admitting they haven't even watched it! That really is unforgivable on their part - surely a performance issue with their employer. I wouldn't be allowed to show up to a meeting at work completely fucking unprepared like that.

That O'Keefe is the ultimate butt nugget. He's a game show host who fancies himself as some kind of progressive intellectual. Mark Latham tears him a new one here:

Calling her movie The Red Pill was a bad move, for many it instantly robbed it of any credibility because most people associate it with pick up artist douchery, not mens rights.
Most people, i.e. you.

@booboo said in Gender Studies:
That is absolutely hilarious. They come out of that looking like this biased idiots that they are - fantastic stuff.
It says the film has faced a "major backlash" but I'm not sure that's totally accurate. It's faced a backlash from a minority of people screaming very loudly, backed by a number MSM outlets whose credibility is going down the drain. It doesn't take many people to create a furor over something these days if they are organised in the way they do it.

No, most people that have ever heard of them.
They've gained notoriety in the past for seriously discussing stuff like "Women want to be raped" or "The case for legalising rape".
From recollection, theres some cross over with the Alt Right but Im not sure how.
But in case you are of the belief that they are about Mens Rights and not Picking Up women, dont take my word for it, take theirs:
"The Red Pill: Discussion of sexual strategy in a culture increasingly lacking a positive identity for men." -

@phoenetia what's the link? I thought red pill was in reference to suddenly realising that your lefist ideology was actually absolutely mental leading you to take a more conservative or republican red stance on things.
Oh no its nothing that clever, some alt-right beta cuck (to borrow from their lexicon) lifted it from the Matrix. Seriously.

Right and I guess if most people dont use the internet to look up stuff they dont know, they'll probably continue to think that way. Solid man, solid.

Cassie Jaye said she did ask them about the comments to do with rape, and said that a) those comments were taken out of context and were largely explainable and b) she chose not to include them in this movie as anything to do with rape is a massive rabbit hole that would require it's own movie.
I don't know the context so won't comment on them, but as with anything context is critical. And in my experience with SJWs/Feminists they absolutely love to take statements out of context to smear people they disagree with politically.
