Afternoon fullas.

Do you guys think this is a good idea to ramp up the intensity or will this lead to overtraining ?

Starting a new job in November which will give me an extra half hour or so in the morning ( 8-30 start ) so keen to do these bad boys for about 10-15 minutes each morning then hit the shower. I'm just keen to ramp things up cos I am re-entering an industry where drinking and socialising is actively encouraged and me being me it can be really hard to say no. I don't do the push up part of them as it may intefere with benching/dips etc but other than that I really smash em out til I can't do anymore.

I love and hate them in equal measures.......

I'm doing something similar to the one hundred push up site. Basically some days I'll have a minutes rest, others two minutes etc. The aim is to do a few more each time which so far I am doing.

One of the Crossfit workouts is 150 burpees for time, give that a whirl on one of the days. Form required is chest and hips hit the ground, feet leave the ground on the jump and clap above your head.

Will give you a time to aim to beat each time. Wouldn't do that every day though.

Yeah currently doing over a hundred each time, how long do they give ya for 150 ?

As I said I don't do the push up part of it or for that matter the clap but if that lifts the intensity ( ie makes me want to keel over sooner ) then I'm all for it !

Just do it as fast as you can, and then the next time beat that yardstick. The pushup just makes it faster to get off the ground, if you are saving your shoulders you can just tuck your legs up instead. Gotta raise your arms above your head for the clap though, it all adds up.

Over a hundred a time is nuts, but you'll be very fit!

Haha, should clarify, a hundred with a few breaks in between but hoping to get to that level before the end of the year.

Your obsession with burpees is disturbing. Are you a masochist or something <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mocking.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':mocking:' />

Yes they are really good but damned if I could do the bastards every day.

Plank can be really difficult after you've done several reps of burpees.

Right who is keen for a bit of a challenge ?

Do 50 burpees in as short a time as possible.......

Rules: ( I'm in charge so what I say goes )

push ups are optional, I personally don't do em as I figure I get enough from dips, push press and have just started benching again......

A jump at the end of each rep is a must.

Aiming for under 2 minutes personally...........then will happily keel over.

I think I'd have trouble doing 50 at all... In a row

Edit: maybe post this as a challenge thread?
