Isometric in nature I guess you could say. Quite hard to get through these after the myotatic crunches, and lady night I was struggling with the great and exertion from the body weight work.

About your headache, I had a similar experience when I started skipping, it might be what's called an exertion headache. Have a google, but there a few ways to reduce their frequency and effect. But I still get them.

Pretty sure exertion headaches are same thing as the tension headache I was referring to as well. They sure are nasty.

Did a bit of googling on them awhile back and they also appear very common when having sex. Must be something to do with heightened blood pressure etc.

No headaches, I'm clearly doing it wrong. Perhaps my kids aren't really my kids.

Real common eh - read this http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding_thibaudeau/exertion_headaches_2

Can assure you its a very nasty feeling. And I only got it from lifting. Would hate to be going at it with the wife and then get the feeling my head (the one above my neck) was going to explode!

School had a working bee on tonight, and like a sap i turned up right on time, and therefore worked the longest...

Anyway, it was a good workout, sweating outdoors and digging shit up, loading skips and such.

Time for bacon n eggs for dinner, then early bed as i started at 4am. Tomorrow morning is a run and weigh in. Hoping to crack 95...

    Today: 95.6kg, Chest 110cm, Waist 100cm, Hips 104cm.
[/quote]

Decided, as I was donating plasma today, to skip the run this morning and just weigh in.

Today: 94.9kg, Chest 109cm, Waist 99cm, Hips 104cm.

Pretty fucking chuffed to finally crack 95, as well as getting the waist under the metre mark. I always measure it in relaxed mode - in normal circumstances it is a bit smaller. My Mum drilled into me as a kid to hold my gut in and now i don't even think about it - she did nothing about changing my diet of course... so there is a couple of inches difference, but that gap is closing which is good to see.

DDO today and in combination with the plasma donation it will work out nicely to keep the weight loss on track. 5kg in 5 weeks... realistically I'll probably get about half that, but some old fashioned binge or protein dieting at the end may get me closer...
Still, despite all that, and consuming minimal carbs today, I decided to go out for a run. Conditions were near perfect - slight breeze, sun in the late afternoon to early evening and I was feeling good.

I mulled over the possibility of stretching it to more than the usual 5km early in the piece, as I was not going for anything like usual pace - just wanted a Sunday arvo cruise to burn off the remains of yesterday.

As the 2 km mark had a public bubbler handy, I decided to grab some water and go for it. Aimed to keep it at around 5:40 per klick as my 10km best (and the only one in my life) was over an hour. Another bubbler at 4km kept the fluids up, but I knew that was the last water I was going to get.

The average speed readout basically didn't get above 5:45 at any point so I knew I was on time to crack the hour mark, and got to the 10km in 56:56 which was nearly 5 mins better than the PB.

Don't really feel that drained, but last time I was about 101kg and not mentally as fit as I am now, which is just as important I think. Haven't got the cramps I experienced last time either, which is a relief.

    Lap times were:

05:20 (fastest)
05:49
05:48
05:44
05:47
05:41
05:21 (downhill!)
05:29
05:57
05:59 (slowest - mostly fatigue and a bit of uphill)

Had to double back at the end to knock off the last 200m, so next time I'll have to figure something else out.

NTA - yup, what's the thing I have seen on facebook? Until you puke or pass out, you haven't reached your limit! And to get your body theire your mind has to be strong enough to ignore all the "I'm fucked, lets stop" signals your body is urgently sending you as you get knackered.

I've never reached my limit.

And by bringing the willpower to bear, with the diet back on the rails, and shitting out all the toxic sludge i consumed on Saturday, this morning I was back to 94.9!

Love that. Will be gunning for sub-94 this weekend.

Yep I'm back on the wagon as well after putting on a couple of kg over the weekend ( although different times weighing in and having slightly dodgy scales may have been a factor )

What DIDN'T I eat?!! Smashed the bacon and eggs with toast, then snacked all day, about a litre of milk, quarter pounder and cheeseburger with iced coffee for lunch. That was right before the blood bank, and the nurse commented how good my haemoglobin count was <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> scoffed the sausage rolls and choc shake post-leech, as well vs a mini mars bar.

After lunch was more snacking (choc chip bikkies etc), more milk, more chocolate, and then my bro came over so I bbq roasted a leg of lamb with spuds, bread roll, and carrots. Followed that up with pie, custard, cream, and ice cream. By then I was spent.

That has honestly given me pause for future DDO activity, especially given there are only 5 weeks left in this cycle.
