Track from the UK Pusher remake trailer.
I've seen these guys twice, they play at my friends club. I think they are kinda local to where I am (?), as they've played the same club several times, and seem to be flying under the radar. Don't know very much about them, but they have a fairly cool sound. The chick lead singer is cute, but is mesmerizingly awkward in her movements performing on stage. -
This is farkin' excellent!
I used to think that Rick Wakeman was a pretentious poseur, but the more I see him in documentaries I find him quite hilarious. -

That's cool. I think she's a bit of an odd ball, and undertook years of formal musical training. Reminds me a bit of Zola Jesus.
Their album's got lots of good reviews (from Pitchfork etc), but they dont seem to have had a break out. -
"Hysteria" and "Map of the Problematique" are two of my very favourite songs.

Has a nice post- new wave synthpop vibe, I've been giving the album quite a few plays the past few months. -

Big Ben Harper fan and came across this. Vanessa da Mata - beautiful voice!
I am a huge harper fan. His voice aches. I remember going to his concert in 02? At the tab arena in wellington and to this day it's probably the best concert I've been to. Aside from my mate shouting expletives at Jack Johnson who was the opening act. -
Did anybody catch (or care about) the death of Terry Callier the other week? I caught him a few times here in London over the years and thought he was a real talent. Fired by University of Chicago from his programming job when they found out he was also a musician. By that time had been gigging for 35 years. The sharp tacks at the Uni only found out when the UN gave him an award for one of his albums (TimePeace, which has the extraordinary "Lazarus Man" on it). Well woth a listen if you're into Bill Withers-y acoustic soul.

I went to that concert. Never a big Harper fan, but i got some freebies. It was a Sunday wasn't it? From memory i had been on the piss since Thursday, so come Sunday night i just wanted to chill out. Perfect concert for that. Couldn't help but think both acts were more suited to a seated venue, over some beers. -

Peter Kruder found a Pink Floyd mix he made in the 90's:
It's 61 minutes long. I haven't listened yet, but I downloaded the mp3 and converted to wav, stamped on a cd and will listen in the car this weekend. I hope it's good... -

Yeah it was a Sunday. My mate is a 6'6 130kg maori and you had to have heard him screaming "fuck off Jack, you suck, where Ben you c*nt" it went on for the entirety of the set. Most embarrassing thing I have seen in person.

But yeah I guess Im more of a fan because I thought BH was awesome. -
