@mokey I have to issue a retraction. USA Today wasn't my only media this year. Just found out today I'm in NPR also. Because my latest book is one of the three must read romances for December apparently. Girl on girl historical smut FTW!

Your sales just increased by at least the 5 'likers' of that post.
'Girl on girl' is such marketing genius when used in this forum.

@crucial LOL. You would not believe how many conversations I've had about lesbian sex since the book released. Random publishing weirdness: gay men romance written by straight women sells infinitely better than two chicks pairing. I don't understand this on any level, so don't ask me why.

@mokey Are we talking about a book? I just saw the words girl on girl smut and that made the rest of your post a bit of a blur.

Just guessing - but do do straight blokes who might be interested in lesbian sex really read romance novels? Surely they just use the internet...that takes out a large number of readers - even the sickos here.

Assume the gay men thing is just about numbers of gay men who read about gay men.

@snowy Not sure how you managed to make my comment all about men, but go you. No, what I'm talking about is women romance readers will read huge amounts of M/M romance, but not nearly as much F/F.

Was after Jegga's comment about girl on girl action.

    So, numbers in general:
Straight blokes don't generally read romance?
Romance novel readers would mostly be women of any sexual persuasion?
Fair to assume that the numbers of lesbian romance novel readers are quite small?

And yeah, why would women of any sexuality want to read about gay men?

It's actually QI and I understand your puzzlement. My wife also writes so the demographics are intriguing..

Certainly won't enter a gender debate as the fern has me completed confused about that. Until recently I actually thought there were two. Ha, how naive I was. I will try and refer to everybody as Zhe in future.

Pretty obvious if you turn the tables. Given the choice a fairly large majority of men would rather read about steamy scissoring saphites than hairy cock gobblers

There are some newsworthy issues in there.

Firstly I didn't know that you could still buy a pie for $2. You can't around my place, so good to know, informative journalism that I am paying too much for pies.
Secondly I can understand the anger. I would never let anyone take my pie. I like pies, and it would indeed take a bomb to get one off me.

As for the bomb - we used to have people who did risk assessments of credible threats WRT to bombs. I wonder where they would have ranked a naked homeless guy, with one in his bag, eating a pie, in the Mount...

Still you can't be too careful so I will be avoiding the Tauranga area for a while, (although the cheap pies are a bit of a draw-card and possibly worth the risk).

You make your point well, but it isn't about the men as Mokey told me - we don't buy Romance novels.

I am intrigued as to why women would read about hairy cock gobblers (as you so eloquently put it). That seems to be a very strange thing, but the world is full of mysteries.

My suspicion is that the readers of romance novels may be hairy cock gobblers themselves.

Please note that I specifically said readers and not writers.

@snowy it’s sometimes useful to look at things from a different perspective. Instead of being disappointed you cannot buy a pie for $2 in your locale perhaps ask the question how does one get the price of a pie down to $2 ? What are they leaving out or worse still what is going in to those pies to make them so cheap?

You're right. I must admit I don't mind paying a bit extra to avoid the eyeball, arsehole, rats tail, type of pie.

Which begs the question if you have a bomb and are intending to steal a pie - why not choose a good one?

While all of you have been discussing lesbos supping at the pink cup there’s been some incredible things happen in our nation. Hosking and Street have quit a show I never watched and maybe replaced by ......wait for it......the Beyoncé of the news.

Well you certainly bought that back to the title of the thread with a jolt.

Can we go back to lesbians and pies now?
